In short: Would echo all the other compliments - excellent from before start to after finish (shame my running couldn't match it) - thanks to all involved in this most friendly and efficient of events.

In short: Absolutely loved it even though my run didn't exactly go to plan. Tackling those hills clarified what I want to work on now. Awesome views and sunshine - can't ask for more.

In short: Brilliiantly organised, fantastic martials, scenery and value for money
In full: A superb day all round. Brilliant organisation and superb support from the martials, checkpoint staff/feed stations and catering staff etc etc.

Wonderful course with stunning vistas and testing trails. By far the hardest race I've ever done but what a very memorable day!

Value for money too was outstanding and it was a very nice touch to offer runners a place to kip down the evening before for free!

I can't remember attending a better organised event which offered such oustanding value for money!

I'll be back!!!

In short: The yellow thing in the sky helped make this a cracking race
In full: Very friendly set up, really enjoyed it. I do feel running these distances is just silly but if I do it again I'll come back here.

In short: Excellent course and organisation. Some tough hills.
In full: The sun was out at last! Big bonus for this excellent event. Praise for the race HQ, parking, organisation, marshals and the excellent testing and varied course. Open fields, woods, steep hills, gradual hills, track, tarmac, dirt. Over 2000 feet of climb on the 20m lap. I found it all pretty hard work this time around - so tough, I quit after lap 1! Can't fault any aspect of this one. Great value considering the t-shirt inclusion as well.

In short: A brilliant, friendly race. Beautiful scenery and excellent aid stations.
In full: We couldn't have asked for a better day. The sun was shining and the views over the hills just breathtaking. Excellent organisation and a really friendly atmosphere makes this race possibly my favourite race of the year.

In short: Quite tough run through beautiful countryside
In full: Fantastic race: the weather was perfect and the scenery wonderful, especially above Streatley and back through to Compton. Very friendly event and plenty of jolly conversation during race. The trail was clearly marked and the water stations well stocked. Basically, this echoes everything that has gone before!

Not sure how many good reviews this needs to qualify for the annual best race in RW but this certainly deserves to be a contender.

In short: Excellent trail race through beautiful countryside
In full: First time doing the Compton Challenge. I opted for the 20, but will be back for the 40. The race is really well organised and very friendly. The course is spectacular and very well marked & marshalled by very friendly people. I would highly recommend this race to anyone who wants a longer distance off-road challenge.

In short: Great race and weather
In full: First time on this race - usually away for easter - but the timing for this was perfect. Goof varied course - even though I did the 40 - still enjoyed the 2nd loop (hills were a lot tougher 2nd time around)

Organisation was brilliant - that's to everyone involved - be back next year.

In short: Stunning course
In full: Great organisation at the start, with the use of the school all day.
The route was well marked with plenty of checkpoints providing tea, coffee, cola, soup and sweet and savoury snacks. Marshals were very friendly and helpful, providing a smile and a chat even to those of us bringing up the rear of the 40 mile event.
Great t-shirt at the end, with hot food and a shower
Stunning scenery, mixed terrain with some gorgeous views. This was my first time at this event and this year the course was altered slightly due to flooding, so that it was 2 laps of the 20 mile course. This meant that those of us running the 40 were treated to "that" hill twice! A bonus...
Excellent course, brilliant organisation and all for the bargain price of £15. Would definitely do again.
