In short: Review for 2011 run
In full: My first 10K and a few killer hills in the heat did prove challenging! There was no 5 mile marker so spent a while thinking I hadnt got that far which was quite demoralising. Otherwise a nice friendly atmoshphere and I shall return next year after more hill work!

In short: Review for 2011: lovely scenery, horrible hill, great medal
In full: This is a very scenic race, but you're unlikely to get a PB - I was about 9 minutes slower than usual, although I did have a stitch and fell over too! Mostly offroad, one killer hill, but the rest is mainly downhill or flat. The medal is great. The only thing I don't understand is why they make you run around the field at the end, when it's about 300m over 10k? Why not have the finish as you come back into the field? Otherwise, really great organisation, encouraging marshalls and good value for money.

In short: Very enjoyable off-road 10K. Come for the scenery and the atmosphere not for a PB
In full: Returned for a second year and love the scenery and the atmosphere of this race. Single file at times through the woods which slows progress a little at times. Improved by six minutes on last year though. Apparantly good information coming back to spectators at the start/finish and you can buy some rather tasty cake!

In short: a few tough hills but enjoyable
In full: between 4k and 7k there are some tough hills with some annoying steps which halted progress and meant having to walk. Slightly over 10k, Garmin Forerunner measuured it as 10.23k.

In short: Lovely trot along the Dart
In full: Undulating off-road race along the River Dart - lovely relaxing run through the woods and fields - I really enjoyed it! Not a PB course but who cares??

In short: Lovely scenery, great organisation
In full: Great race, thought it was going to be hilly but I think it was more "undulating" Had it been a couple of days earlier we would have been swimming. Fair amount of mud and pudddles but great fun. Nice medal at the end and great cakes as with all the teignbridge trotter races. See you next year.

In short: hot, hilly and bottlenecks but i enjoyed it.
In full: it wasn't flat! and steps in hillsides are hard especially if you're not overly tall. but as i'm a beginner and the idea of a PB isn't even on my radar i thoroughly enjoyed it. although have to admit i'd be a bit more confident where i placed myself at the start if i did it again as the single file bits in the first few miles were a bit too slow for me. nice people there tho!
lovely marshalls too. when they were cheering locals by name i'd tell them mine and they'd cheer for me, as well!

In short: The strangest 10K I've run
In full: This is NOT a flat race. I personally was not looking for a PB although I can understand that anyone who had turned up wanting a fast race would have been a bit PO'd. The first wind I got that all was not what it seemed was when I saw the course record - over 35 minutes.
Parking was free if you got there early enough. As usual, you could not hear the pre race announcements, although people continuing to gossip was partly to blame for this. It was good of the mayor to turn up to start it.

The course is very narrow for large parts and in some bit it is single file only. At two points we slowed to a walk. The course goes through woods (good for shade), up and down hills, and you have to avoid tree roots and large muddy puddles. It felt a bit like a club training run The marshalling and water stations were good - it was very hot and the hose at the second one was a particularly nice touch, and the marshal warning people about the hole did a stirling job. Over the last mile and a half I was able to speed up a bit though I finished with a new personal worst by nearly 4 minutes, and almost 12 minutes outside my PB - pretty close to marathon pace. The medal was good though. Despite the various problems with this race, it was well organised and oddly enough, I would do it again and would reccommend it.

In short: whoever decided to say this flat was having a laugh!!!
In full: I thought I would enter this race as Im down on holiday and I love flat races... I was hoping for a pb but was 10 mins slower due to the fact that people were walking up the many steps and it had a bottleneck affect...also I found it very hilly, price was not too bad and the marshalls were excellent. But I wont be doing this again.
