In short: Gives London a bad name! The other London 10k runs rings around this poorly organised race. Avoid!
In full: Shocking is an understatement. After running my first 10k at the bupa london 10,000 i cant believe how poor this race was. After celebrating 10years you would think they would have got something right. Compared to the other 10k it is hopeless and I advise anyone to avoid!

In short: Don't do this, do the BUPA 10000 instead
In full: I ran the British 10k last year as my first big city 10k, the organisation was terrible, the start a nightmare, it took me over half an hour to cross the start line and that was with prior knowledge that it took a while to cross, the route was congested, the km markers weren't that obvious, I missed at least 2 of them, there wasn't enough water and the end wasn't great either. In contrast the BUPA 10000 that I did today was so well organised, pre-race area, great phased start, good support, lots of bands around the route, clear km markers, plenty of water, "showers" along the way to cool down, good finish, chips included in the price etc etc. Don't do the British 10k, do the BUPA 10000 would be my advice.

In short: Too many people - not as good as made out to be
In full: At 25,000 plus I feel there were too many people for the distance. There were a lot of walkers even after the 3km which slowed down the race a lot. Atmosphere was good due to large amounts of people.
The race was advertised as taking in many of London's famous landmarks but to be frank quite a lot of this run was running in and out of the tunnels around Queen Victoria Street - not terribly scenic.
Water points were good as it was a hot day. Could have done without the load speakers blaring out 'god save the queen' and 'we are the champions' - where's the originality in that? How about getting some local bands to perform live at key points along the route. The entry fee was quite steep. I think I'll check out the BUPA run next time.

In short: Great Tourist Scenic Route - Fantastic Presentation
In full: This was my first ever running event. I had got there very early so, I was in the front wave of runners therefore, I cannot vouch for other reviewers who were further back and complained about long queue. The presentation was great with Queens guards parade and the firing of a canon to start the race (which made me jump out of my shorts...was so bloody loud!). Great tourist London route and as my first ever running event, I was very chuffed. Medal is rather tacky looking though!

In short: Huge queue for the start and lots of people walking made getting any sort of time unlikely.

In short: Love it
In full: This is the second time I've done it. Great atmosphere. Feels special to run through the centre of London. Running across Westminster Bridge makes the whole experience worth while. Good DJ spots to give encouragement. It's a fun race rather than a serious race. There are lots of small, cheap, local 10K races taking place every weekend, and those are great for club runners, and for getting a PB. This is a big, once a year fun run through the centre of London. Take it for what it is and you won't be surprised or disappointed.

In short: Enjoyable Sunday moring run with great scenary
In full: Had no problems with bags, getting to the start etc, enjoyed the run. But, as I started at the very back though the water stations had been emptied by the time I got to them.
