In short: The first 4k is very tough all uphill and steep up hill at that. The climb to the top is worth it as the view is magnificent. Second half was a lot easier all down hill and a chance to get your time back. Lovely atmosphere with great support.

In short: Hard first 4km but really enjoyable and fast second half of the race
In full: Course: As other people have said, the first 4km of the race is a series of ascents, with the hill between 2-3km being particularly brutal. Once up to the top though you can start relaxing and enjoying the scenary a little more (and making up for lost time). Probably one to add at least a minute onto your normal 10k time for, despite the extremely fast last 2k.
Event: Well organised start on a wide piece of road, plenty of marshalls around the course and lots of water at the drinks stations at the finish (where a free banana was also handed out). Would be nice to see a race clock at the finish if they have more entrants next year.

In short: Tough start with a very fast middle and end
In full: The organisers warned the first 2.5k was up hill. I have to confess it seemed nearer 4k to me and it was a hard start.

Once you hit the 4k mark it's all down or flat, so you have some chance of getting back time lost at the start.

The scenary was absolutely superb. The race deserves top marks.

My only criticism is that there didn't seem to be a clock at the end. I ended up having to wait for the results to be published on the website before I knew how well (or not) I did.

But top marks, see you next year.

In short: Challenging first half, worth turning up for!
In full: My first time at this race. Very friendly! Tough first part, lots of climbing, fab views at the top! Speedy second half with a lap of the field to finish. Great atmosphere! Will be back next year and try to improve my time for the first half of the race, second half was very speedy!

In short: Steep...but fun
In full: What a lovely race. Scenery, organisation, atmosphere all great. The course is tough, in the first few kms at least, with a long uphill which stretches out ahead of you. Then a short descent before another (lesser) pull up to the top. After that it's much easier with it being flat or downhill, except for one nasty little hill half way down. I really enjoyed it and was pleased with my time of 47.00, especially as I overheard local runners saying you can add 3-4 minutes onto your regular time, in which case I'm in PB territory! I would highly recommend this race, but not if it's your first 10k. Nice facilities too with a bacon sandwich stall, tea and cakes, and bottles of water/bananas for finishers.

In short: i like the race but i had 5 clients who ran a 10k for the first
In full: i like the race and next year would go for a pb. I had no major issues but i do run lots for races. But i had 5 clients how had never ran that far before and were put off by the back marshall being to close to them and now they don't want to run again
