In short: Tougher than expected but glorious
In full: Whilst it's tougher than it used to be - now featuring trail/cross country elements - it is an interesting route and the scenery on such a sunny day was beautiful.

When I finally saw the 9k marker I was gutted thinking I was heading for my slowest ever 10k, and then just around the corner I didn't believe that it could just be straight to the finish - I was looking for a loop of the field... It meant when I got such an improved PB it was a genuine shock and delight!

As a Clowne myself this race was great to run because I knew most of the marshals including my husband and best friend and hearing all the shouts of "come on SJ!" really did help. Thanks to everyone who marshalled.

In short: Fantastic atmosphere and well organised route despite last minute changes
In full: A little bit of everything - village atmosphere, a small hill, canals, roads, fields, urban and rural.

In short: New course is tougher than last year but still a very enjoyable race.
In full: The new course was certainly a tougher challenge than the previous one. I'd doubt very much you'd get a good pb here. The K markers were a little erratic but other than that the organisation and marshalling was top class. Definately a trail race rather than a road race now but if anything this sets it out from a lot of other 10ks. Whatever the course I'll be back next year.

In short: Lovely atmosphere, very well marshalled, scenic and a great race.
In full: I enjoyed this race. A nice and diverse course, only one hill, super organisation and an excellent tech t-shirt at the finish. I did a PB but had hoped to be a little faster after the training I'd put in, you definitely lost some time going over the 3 or 4 stiles, and the gates. Not to worry though, I would definitely do this again.

In short: friendly and interesting
In full: well organised, cheerful encouraging marshalls. Lovely scenery, good mix of terrains, really enjoyed this. No chance of a PB but wasn't aiming for one, rather a sweet little race on a nice sunny morning.

In short: Friendly, well-organised race with interesting route. Thoroughly recommended.
In full: Really enjoyed it. Nice variety of terrain: one proper hill, not long after start, then mostly flat. Canal-side sections very picturesque. Liked the off-road stretches, which gave respite for feet. Very well marshalled. Good quality tee-shirt at finish. Several stiles en route caused minor traffic jams - could be a pain for more serious runners (looking for PBs) but for the rest of us provided nice excuse to stop for a few seconds and get some breath back.
Big thanks to the Clowne club.
