In short: Good value, crowds, organisation, race T's, medal and not too crowded a good all rounder In full: Pros People of Coventry are lovely! Not a mile went by without local supporters. Smiley, cheering marshallers everywhere. Good spread of faster and slowers runners. Lots of space, not much crowding.
Cons Race village a bit cramped. Same lady as lady as last time with the warmup - she's rubbish! Goody bag a bit poor for a half (but then it is a cheaper race)

In short: A challneging time for runners and organisers because of the unusual heat. It is not the best or worst half marathon I have done and clearly the organisers want to make this good. The course was moderately challenging and attractive Date of review: August 4, 2010

In short: hot and hilly In full: I was pleasantly surprised with this race as expected little in the way of scenery. I was wrong and race went through some nice areas. I thought other than the congested start the organisation was spot on
The support from the locals was great and the hoses and water guns a god send! will be back in 2011
organisers could we have some tshirts for 2011 please Date of review: May 30, 2010

In full: This appeared to be a good race with a good atmosphere and all started well. I unfortunately had my first ever DNF due to a calf injury. I got to 5 miles and my leg gave up and I could run no further. This is where the day got worse for me. I hobbled towards 2 race officials and asked what provisions there were for runners having to pull out because of injury, getting back to the start etc. I was told there wasn't any and that I'd have to make my own way. I was then directed towards a road and told to walk back into the town centre which was allegedly 2 miles away. If it wasn't for the kind police officer who gave me a bottle of water I'd have had to do the trek without any hydration as I was not near a water station at the time. I limped my way back to the town centre in the soaring heat, passing some rather dodgy groups of youths on the way, knowing if that they did decide to give me any grief I'd not be able to run away. Luckily nothing happened and I eventually got back to the centre after what was more like 4 miles and in alot of pain. I was to say the least, disappointed with the lack of any first aid or assistance at a time I needed it. To be left to wander the streets of Coventry with an injury and no concern from the race officials is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned and I feel let down by the organisers. I'll not be back to do this race again.. Date of review: May 29, 2010

In short: Highly enjoyable and organised to perfrction In full: As ever, a top event, which I simply can't fault. I like the switch in calendar date. Lots of hoses, kids with super-soakers just added another fun dimension to what I already consider one of the best halves anywahere. Date of review: May 26, 2010

In short: saying it was hot wouldnt do it justice In full: it was a good race, the water bottles was a nice touch god i needed it .only one gripe there needed to be a water station within the first four miles when temperatures are that high Date of review: May 25, 2010

In short: Bloomin Hot In full: Had a great day and a great run considering the hot weather. Big thanks to all those with hose pipes on the way round!!
Really disappointed with the goody bag, ditch this and give everyone a T-Shirt instead! Also organisers should consider an additional water stop within the first 3 miles for next year if its really hot again!
Overall great race, well organised, great route will be back again next year. Date of review: May 25, 2010

In short: Hot, hot, hot.... In full: My first half marathon and my god did I have to work at it! The hottest day of the year so far, fantastic organisation at the start, people of Coventry were fantastic, sprinklers in the roads very much appreciated! Disappointed by the lack of road signs in and around the city and goody bag was very poor. Having said that, I see this being the start of many halfs and shall aim to return next year, hopefully a little cooler :-) Date of review: May 24, 2010
