In short: "The course is completely on tarmac" apart from the bits on grass...
In full: Not as fast as the organisers make out. Not sure how they can say it's all on tarmac when the start and (awful) finish are on grass. The two miles on tow path slow it down a bit as well. I think it was also a bit long, either that or difficult to run an efficient race line because of all the turns.

In short: peculiar
In full: The Surrey Champs so lots of fast boys / girls there so I expected a lot more. Very odd start line - a piece of blue carpet on a patch of grass, nothing more. No announcements, signs, directions, arrows, nothing. Couldn't see any km markers in the early part of the race. Those later in the race were a little random. Horrible hairpin bend *2. Odd finish on the funny bit of grass again. Just no atmosphere. Peculiar, all very peculiar. Could be just so much better.

In short: Fast and pleasant race
In full: Ham is a nice setting for a 10k: it is flat, away from any significant traffic on the road, and the riverside is scenic. Organisation was good before the race, shame that some markers were difficult to spot (I could not find the important 6k and 7k ones, but was told later they existed by GPS armed runners!). The one hairpin is definitely a pain in the neck but otherwise good course. Ah, yes, change this finish on the grass, it is heart and time breaking.

In short: Ticks the boxes
In full: The 9am start is a little early for ultra-fast running, but the course is good consisting of a mix of roads and paved towpath. There are no hills of any description and a few twists but only one hairpin that would slow runners down significantly. It's also well marshalled. Despite all this a lot of people were disappointed with times. The only thing I would change is the finish - the final dog-leg is cruel.

In short: Not a very well organised race for the amount of entries. The layout of the finish just seemed stupid to me. stu

In short: Well-organised friendly 10k in a nice part of south west London
In full: Chip timing, great marshals (thank you Heather, Paul and Tamsin), mugs not medals, friendly and well-organised - what's not to like?

In short: Very scenic and flat as a pancake, the course is on residential roads and 2 loops of part of the Thames Path. Some minor improvements could be made - a bigger drinks station and a bit more notice before the start

In short: Fast, nice mug at the end
In full: First time I run it. I am a club runner, but on the slow side and felt a bit sorry for myself ending up with the bottom 60 or so finishers. The race was well organised, well marshalled, as I am slow I had enough to enjoy the route along the river! Very good value for money. Hope to run it with some of my club mates next year.

In full: Good course. I would agree with another review about the hairpin turn and also a difficult turn just before the lock by some wicker fencing. It hurt to discover the finish line wasn't 'there' but at the end of what seemed like an eternal U shape!! I did however run a 20 sec PB so overall pleased.

In short: Quick course with very high standard. Lacking a bit of organisation; plenty of runners turning up with no club rep available.
