In short: Excellent event
In full: I think every regular runner who competed in this race knows that the distance wasn’t run over the full 13.1 miles – it was a good half mile short….. a pity, as I was having a great run and would have broken my pb by a good four or five minutes. However, putting that aside, I must state what a good event this was. The organisers had planned a route (with important roads closed) that took us around Wombourne a few times, along beautiful country lanes, through picturesque villages, and was undulating enough to be interesting without being hilly. Perfect running weather made the day complete. I will certainly be back next year – I can see this being an ‘enter early if you want to run’ event in future years as momentum builds. I really hope the organisers get to the bottom the ‘short route’ issue, and the event will undoubtedly go from strength to strength.

In short: Undulating picturesque course. Measurement needs to be ratified (seemed short)
In full: Well Organised race. Quite expensive to enter (£16).
Race prizes were very poor. Winners got a little glass trophy, surely some better incentives can be put up for the price of the entry and numbers taking part.
Most people wearing Garmins got the course at 12.6 miles hence lots of people surprised in running PBs.

In short: .
In full: i enjoyed this even tho there were hills on everywhere, maybe needed an extra water station because it was a very warm day. Organisation was good , marshalls and police very good and the bit of support around the route helped.I thought the 9am start was a godsend please make this the official start, it helped so that you got back before it hotted up so much that you'd feel zapped of energy.Think it needed a few more marshalls on the quieter lanes just in case anyone felt ill or got injured as there were long stretches when it was a bit lonely.Got a PB so that came as a surprise seeing that it was only a training run for Black country/Brum half, nearly fainted when i saw the time considering how many hills i'd ran up ...all good and i'll be back.Well done to everyone.

In short: Good race, very well organised, but a little short of the full half
In full: Good race, good support from crowds, good scenery. The distance was a little bit short, I clocked 12.5 miles on my Timex which is normally accurate.

In short: Very enjoyable event, nice scenic route and very good local support en route
In full: Hopefully this will be back on the calendar next year. Really nice course (there was a link to the course profile on the website showing where the hills were). Not flat but not particularly hilly either. Good support along the route so thanks to the locals for that and also the marshalls who gave up their free time. Difficult at times running past nice country pubs on such a lovely morning... gasping for a pint at The Bell in Trysull (but I think it was closed anyway!)

My Garmin 405 clocked the distance as 12.55 miles but I started it a bit late due to it reverting to 'time mode' as we were about to start!

In short: An well organised, scenic, friendly race
In full: Excellent organisation & supportive marshals.

Shame about the late change to start time - a few disgruntled late arrivals. Helped as the temperature rose later.

Route was interesting & scenic. It would have helped to know in advance of the significant incline after 9 miles & also back into the town, particularly as website detailed route so well.

Medal was unusual design, and much better looking than most. Had great leg massage afterwards before the queue formed!

VERY enjoyable race. The spectators turned out in both town & villages and were very encouraging (perhaps because the marshals were also so supportive). I hope the event is continued, and I would recommend it to all abilities.

A word on Garmin GPS watches. Mine showed the discrepancy very early on as route went through town (miles 1-3). It then kept the same under-distance for the rest of the race.

Had the same problem in Manchester GMR 10K, and that is an IAAF gold-rated race! Suspect watches "cut the corners" as signal got lost thus reducing the distance logged, as mine also showed a much greater variation of my pace in first 3 miles. Had the same problem in mile 12 under the trees, but the course there was dead straight so it corrected itself as more sky came into view. Interested to hear from the organisers.

In short: Well organised and supported, pity about the distance
In full: A great race, puts the Wolverhampton half to shame-traffic free, excellent marshalls, would have been the pefect race had it been the full 13.1 - I reckon about half a mile short.

In short: Great Race
In full: Thought it was an awesome race. Could some one confirm the distance please, maybe using methods other than Garmin GPS. Not to be too anal about it but it would be nice to know.
Great crowd and marshals too!!
