In short: A tough but good race
In full: A really up and down course, out and back. Vety scenic, as you head up the hill towards Hardwick Hall, then loop round and return.
It undulates for most of the race, then 1 decent hill climb.
Tough, but very enjoyable. Not a beginners race. Legs are howling today.

In short: Challenging climbs but well worth the effort, hard to think of anything to criticise.
In full: Great support from the locals and good views of the hall.Climb to the hall certainly a challenge, but that just makes it more rewarding when you've done it.Can't think of a better way to spend the evening and will definately be back next year

In short: I love this race!
In full: Despite being `injured`, I decided to do this race with a friend because I enjoyed it so much in 2010.

Lovely evening with the whole village out in the sun, watching whilst quaffing beer. I was suffering but you have to love the view of Bess` house on the way there and the crazy upflat to the halfway point.

Only down note was some old git at the end overtaking us and then saying that I ought to be `ashamed` of myself for being beaten by a V70, not jokingly. I pointed out that I was just jogging it to help my mate not racing having finished quite high up last year!!!

Try this one!

In short: Tough but enjoyable and good atmosphere
In full: Being relatively local to the area I knew we were in for a hill or two but having been out of action for a few weeks this was a hard come back.
It was nice that most of the village appeared to be out to wish us all on and back to the finish and there was ample water supplies for a 10k.
A really nice midweek run and I'll be back next year to try and go quicker and get up the hills better!

In short: A really special and unusual race
In full: This is the fifth time I have run this race. The Mystery Runner adds an extra dimension to the run compared to others - with inspiring characters from sporting past and present. The view of Hardwick Hall on the horizon was stunning this year in the fine evening light. This event is unique in both length and profile, so it has real meaning to talk about a personal best for The Hardwick Run, rather than a 10k. The support from the villagers and others along the route was very welcome and motivating with a great atmosphere in the village itself. The Cheerleaders provided a splash of colour and fun at the end of the run. All in all, a very enjoyable event, once you have forgotten the pain of the hills...
