In short: Very good weekend of running, especially for a club with lots of little children In full: We camped as a club with six families with ages of children ranging from 2 to 17. we all had a great time the youngsters were well catered for with the short organised runs, the free painting/lego/activity tent and football. There was mountain biking and Go Ape to amuse the older children (at extra cost) The organiser put a lot into this event with excellent showers and toilets for the amount of people who camped. Though if more camp next year, it will need more then. Everything you needed was on site so you didn't need to go anywhere. The race entry covered 3 nights camping plus goody bags plus cheap massages and a band in the evening - excellent value all round. The runs were challenging with the steady hills but enjoyable - if slightly shorter than advertised. Their was a good atmosphere amongst those competing and the organisers who was on hand and always willing to chat. The only minor things that could be improved was getting the marshals to provide more vocal encouragement to the runners (friendly but quiet) and the caterers food was ok but could have been warmer - possibly due to not being a huge turnover. Entertainment on the Saturday was good - it was on site, it finished early so didn't upset the kids and rounded off a nice day. I hope more people take part next year, this event deserves it Date of review: July 31, 2010
In short: great run, loved it despite the hills! In full: We did the 10K on the saturday and both really enjoyed the run. We are quite new to running but really pleased how well we coped with the hills - I am no longer afraid of them! Loved the course, espicially not knowing what was round the next corner, very scenic. Very well organised. Will be back next year, but this time will bring the dog as well! Date of review: July 27, 2010

In short: Did the 6 hr race on Sunday, very good organisation, great scenery, lovely race. In full: Really enjoyed this. Great location in the forest for the start/finish and camping area. Lots of space, no queues for loos or showers, very relaxed.
7 km course is a good length for a 6 hr race and this one is actually quite hilly - well, 3.5 k up hill, 3.5 k down hill! Weather was good, nice dry trails but it was pretty humid. Still, nice breeze on the tops and shade from the trees lower down. Pleasant route and some fine views.
Great to be able to park close to the race route for refuelling etc.
For a first event it was really well organised, lots of facilities and good atmosphere – lets hope more people sign up to this next year. Still, in a bigger field I might not have won the solo race!!
Also, hats off to the winning pairs team. 13 laps is awesome!!
In short: What a superb event, fantastic organisation great banter and support from all the marshalls. The 7k loop is tough and hilly in parts but that is waht makes up the fun. This event will only get better. In full: Take advantage of the great ocation and other activities and make a weekend of it. The race directer Sam and his team have done a fatastic job in trying to organise a complicated weekend of events, he was always on hand asking people for views and ideas and I have no doubt he will continue to develpe this race. My family, friend and I had a great weekend and this is a deffinate for next year. Date of review: July 26, 2010
