In short: Woolmer race - Think we were lucky with the weather
In full: Not as Brutal as I imagined but would have been a different story had it rained in the past couple of weeks. They still found a fair amount of mud though.

Nice start to the cross country season, looking forward to the next two.

In short: Short sharp hills and tesing under foot terrain
In full: Brutal and Toby Jenkins are thanked for letting the canicross trailrunners join in with their event. We started 10 mins before the main race and most of us managed to not get caught. This was a tesing run underfoot, from stony paths to forest paths to tree stumps and braken, the dogs needed close guidance for the open forest but coped well.
Thanks to all the marshalls, with a cheery face for all on a cold morning.

In short: Didn't really live up to the hype
In full: After various Hellrunner and TurboX races, I was expecting this to live up to the same standards. It was tougher than your average trail run, but hardly "2011's ultimate challenge". No goody bag, no t-shirt, no medal. All quite disappointing really.

In short: It's called Brutal for a reason!
In full: This was my first time doing one of the Brutal or Grim style runs. I knew it would be a lot tougher than a regular 10k (trail or road) but naivety showed as it was truly BRUTAL! Superbly organised and the difficulty made it feel all the more of an achievement.
