In short: Welcoming and encouraging, but you need mental strength to keep banging those laps out.
In full: Thanks to Smiler Sid, the lap-counters and the rest of the team for an excellently organised event. Perhaps a race for the more hardcore marathoner, given the 40-lap format, but I was mightily encouraged by the undentably cheery determination of those I was running with.
The course followed a shady tarmac foothpath around a park; there was a short sharp rise of several metres elevation at one end, with almost imperceptible inclines leading to and away from it on the longer sides. The accumulated ascent, added to lap fatigue, probably means it wouldn't meet most people's PB criteria.
It's a small race with maximum 60 entrants. The organisers clearly pride themselves on knowing what runners want, so plenty of energy drinks and snacks available and a grand finish and trophy to all irrespective of categories and placing. This is a very good event which has been produced from potentially unpromising resources.

In short: Excellent organisation, multi-lap event
In full: I enjoyed this event the organisation was flawless. I enjoyed having my own lap counter to chat to as I passed. I personally found 40 laps quite challenging mentally but everyone was very friendly. The trophy and lottery tickets were a nice touch- as was the tape for everyone to run through at the end. I got a PW though that was to do with my lack of training recently. The course has a lovely downhill section which could make for a fast time.

In short: Excellent event and extremely well organised
In full: Excellent event. Unusual in being 40 laps and a field of 60. Really well organised with teams of lap counters. I've never been to a race with more than 40 chances to get generously arranged refreshments en route before. A huge thank you to my lap- counter, even if he did punish me with an extra lap ;-)

In short: Small and friendly. Great organisation and (for me) efficient lap counter. PB for me so of course I'm biased!
