In short: Very slickly organised In full: A very well organised Iron distance tri. The swim isn't the best and smells of duck poo but it would be hard to get lost! Cycle is straight forward with only one small hill of note, run is great for seeing how everyone else is doing. It doesn't have the sense of occasion an IM has but it is good value. Only minor gripe is that there is no real expo. Date of review: August 16, 2012

In short: Superb race. In full: Can't really be faulted. The venue is excellent, all facilities close to hand and no time wasted running miles during transitions either. Swim course is straight forward, the water is nice and was weed free. Bike course pretty quick, has one small hill and a few undulations. It has plenty of well stocked feed stations, support on the course is also good. A little section near the end that is a bit rough but generally decent road surfaces. Run course is flat. I encountered no issues with passing with it being a little narrow in parts and again is very well supplied with gels drinks etc. and support is excellent. After finishing you are well taken care of with massage medical and food. 10/10. Date of review: July 7, 2012

It was an excellent event, with fantastic organisation, great facilities, good marshals & excellent security, easy registration, great Expo, information and briefings were good. The day itself could not have been better, support around the whole course was superb, drink & feed stations well stocked, well staffed and well needed!!!! Good toilet facilities on the run, also well needed!!!! AMAZING!! Date of review: August 21, 2011

In short: Simply amazing In full: First Iron distance event and I blown away by everything from the organisation, registration, the course, marshals, volunteers, feed stations to the medals. My only minor gripe (and it is really minor) was there could have been more room in the changing/bag hanging area. The course is fantastic and amazingly scenic to. I will be back next year along with 50 other Pirates Date of review: July 30, 2011

In short: In with the Outlaws! In full: My first attempt at the distance, this was a superb race. Excellently organised by One Step Beyond, us athletes were really well looked after, especially on the run with frequent well-stocked feed stations. Lots of encouraging crowd support. Plenty of very helpful and friendly marshalls. Not a cheap race, but you could see where the money had been spent. Afterwards I did say 'Never again!', but now I'm thinking 'Mmmm, next year....'
