In short: A challenging course but really worth it!
In full: I've always enjoyed this race. It is one of the most scenic ones on my calendar. The course is challenging but the views of the Castle and at the top of the Downs make it really worthwhile.

The support is great in the town, especially in the finish area and there is great support from the marshals along the route of the course. Thanks to all the marshals and the 1st Arundel Scouts for orgainising the event, it's a cracker!

I really like this race and I hope to get around it faster next year.

In short: Well organised, great scenery, forget the pb
In full: After starting in the square the race goes up through the grounds of the castle, winding through the walls and across a small draw bridge. The 5k climb wasn't that bad, and the view at the top made it all worth while. Three water stations en-route and plenty of support out on the hills.I was humbled by the guy dressed as the stig, overtaking me on the long climb with a heavy crash helmet on! I stopped on the way down to help a runner who was in a bad way with only 1/2 a km to go. After speaking to marshalls at the finish I was told an ambulance had gone up to help him. I hope he was ok. I really enjoyed this race and wished I had taken the family as Arundel looks a lovely place to spend the day.

In short: Beautiful but tough
In full: Amazing scenery - great fun running through the castle grounds and then up onto the downs. The first half is all uphill, then you trash your quads sprinting back down. There's a nasty, stony, steep hill at 4-5 miles which had lots of people walking, and a lovely happy atmosphere at the finish in the town centre. This one hurt more than I'm used to, but worth it for the views.

In short: Great race around Arundel to start then the hills above
In full: Great to run around Arundel to start, up through the Castle grounds, beyond to the highest point (that long hill suits me instead of a number of short sharp ones), superb views here, a steep drop down and then another not too steep hill, before plunging back down through the castle grounds to the finish.
Great crowd support, marshals and organisation.

In short: Excellent race
In full: This was my 5th time doing the Arundel Scouts 10k and is a race that I enjoy everytime.

This year I decided to run as "The Stig" in memory of my best friend Kev. The support by runners, marshals and supporters was amazing and made the distance fly by.

The finish on the high street is excellent and the organisation is superb. It is a hilly course but a race that needs to be enjoyed rather than pushing for PB.

Arundel 10k hopefully see you in 2013 but maybe not in fancy dress.

In short: Tough course but well wroth while because/in spite of this. Scenic route and good atmosphere at start and end
In full: Second time here, this year with chip timing which is a nice extra. Good crowds at the start/finish. Rest of the route is quiet but with nice views of Sussex countryside at the top of the long hill.
Nice medal, no goody bag but there are only so many advert flyers I need each year anyway!
There may be tougher 10k's out there, but this one is hard enough to feel like an achievement. Overall a race to enjoy more than clock-watch, but that's fine as it is enjoyable.

In short: not an easy 10k, but it was just as good as a sunday morning race can possibly be.
In full: not an easy 10k, but worth running for the sheer enjoyment of the setting and the support.

In short: One of my all-time favourites.
In full: This was as challenging as ever, and as worthwhile as ever. I love it. Chip timing was used for the first time, so a new feature for this magnificent race. This is the fourth time I have run it, missing out in 2009 and 2010 due to injury and holidays respectively!

Many thanks to 1st Arundel Scouts for their brilliant organisation, to the marshalls and other race officials, those who manned drinks stations and to the townsfolk of Arundel who turn out in force every year to cheer the runners on. This makes the race so inclusive, and it is wonderful to take part in this fringe event of the Arundel Festival. All kilometre markers were easily visible and accurately placed. And it was a glorious morning weatherwise which made the glorious scenery such a joy to behold as always! So lovely to receive a medal and, when uploaded, free downloads of your race photos. Not cheap that.

Next year? Of course!!

In short: Without question my favourite
In full: Of all the Sussex races i have run this is without doubt my favourite. Virtually zero chance of a PB due to the long 5k climb, sharp downhill and steep climb at 7k, but nobody cares! The organisation is great, its always well supported at the finish and running through the castle grounds is great. If you havent done it yet, you must.

In short: loved it !
In full: a very well organised race, not the easiest of 10k races as the first 5k out through the castle is uphill and then at the turn it is fast and furious downhill which is tricky underfoot. then another hill climb and back through the castle to be greeted cheering locals and then the uphill sprint to the finish line ! lovely medal and will be back again next year.
