In short: Great organisation
In full: This was my first marathon. Organisation was excellent, plenty of drinks when needed which was good. I am from Brighton so loved the course and knew it off by heart when race day came. Did not hesitate to book for 2012 the next day.

In short: Fantastic crowds&atmosphere;Very well organised with lots of support for beginerss
In full: This is a lovely event - big enough to get lots of support but without runners getting in
each others way.

Course is pretty flat too, with long stretches along the coast and finishing near the pier. Grim section around 20-23 miles tests your resolve, but then the final section along the esplanade is a joy.

Plenty of water stations, and there needed to be - this year was so hot at the end it was into the sea for a dip. In April !!

I'm in for 2012!

In short: Great race but it's no London or Edinburgh...yet
In full: I liked the race, I really did, from the start when I parked up on the outskirts of the city for a bargin price and was whisked off the start line with no fuss I was impressed. That said this race is not on par with London or Edinburgh yet. The route needs improvement, far too many out and back sections thorugh souless places with no support and there should be more food/energy drinks on the course. The price is very high for such an event but the organisation is very good, swings and roundabouts I guess. I hear that 5000 places went to charities, who returned half their allocation so many runners who could not commit to raiseing £1000+ missed out. I hope this won't happen next year?

In short: Brilliant day, well organised and very friendly
In full: My first marathon, chose it because its my home city and it definitely brought out the best in us! Volunteers were great, crowd very, very supportive and the organisation was excellent. Well done to all. Mentally it can be a bit tough, because of the out and back sections of the run, but for me this was a bonus, seeing runners moving in opposite directions and lots of mutual encouragement. Have signed up for next year!
