In short: Great and Dirty Fun
In full: A great way to work off some of the Christmas excesses. Plenty of large, deep puddles and plenty of people to cheer you on as you plunged into them. Great atmosphere as running along, with other runners happy to laugh and chat, and give a helping hand or shove to get out of the deeper craters!

My only complaint was that there appeared to be no separation of the hares and tortoises at the start. The first mile or so is fairly narrow, and people walking 3 abreast in the top 1/3 of the field slows the rest down somewhat.

In short: Loved and hated it at the same time!!
In full: Hard work if you're used to road running - massive puddles (more like ponds!!), mud, hills, plus a last mile that was actually almost 2 meant it was a hard morning out!! But the sense of satisfaction at the end was worth it :) Great for beginners, I recommend going round in a team (really helped me at the hard parts, cheers girls!) and be prepared to get wet & dirty!! Slick organisation plus I love the t-shirt! Will definitely do again.

In short: Forget the timing chip...this is all about having a dirty rotten laugh!
In full: My first Grim, having done guts and glory earling in December and totally loved it. Three of us in clown wigs and a red cape with one and one mission only. To ensure every single, puddle, pool and mud pit was jumped, splashed, waded, swam or wallowed in. We did them all. Time - sub 2 hours but who cares we were laughing every step of the way.

If you have childhood memories of being told off by your mum for stepping in puddles on the way to school then this is the race for you to make up for all those missed oppertunities. i though it was very well organised but could have been a bit muddier hahah. Brilliant. See you next year, I'm wearing the T-shirt as I type

In short: 3rd year of running it. Back next year!
In full: This is just such good fun. Not as hard as the Beast in the East but colder, wetter, sillier and more fun.

In short: More Muddy than a mudbath from mudland
In full: First time at the Grim (my second ever race)and loved every minute of it. Despite my arthritis playing up still managed to finish in 1:27 so I was very pleased with that.

Some people don't like the fact it is actually over 8 miles (about 8.75) but this isn't a race people should take seriously. Whilst the course itself isn't that challenging, there is way too much mud for that.

I thought it was well marshalled and everyone, participants, steards & spectators were all very encouraging. I shall be returning for the Dusathlon later this year

In short: Be prepared to get wet and muddy
In full: Great change from my usual road races. Mix of good trails, short hills, big puddles and muddy water to wade through. Would recommend running it in a team, forgetting about your time and just running through the puddles. The only negatives were slippy cattle grids and a lack of marshalls on much of the course.

In full: Fantastic run. Haven't had so much fun in a race for a long time.
If you never do it then you'll always regret it.
