In short: Nice riverside run
In full: Another well organised race from Purple Patch.

There was plenty of free parking not too far away from the start & was easy to find.

The race was delayed by about 10 mins but I'm too sure why, apart from that everything else went smoothly.

The route was really nice, running along side the river for a chunk of it.

In short: Enjoyable no frills 10k
In full: A really enjoyable run through some interesting and perhaps forgotten parts or Reading. Well organised no frills race with nothing much to complain about although entry fee approaching expensive for a basic 10k. Car parking, start/ finish, toilets etc all very good. Fast course as it is very flat. Marshals in the right places and really encoraging.

In short: yeh not bad
In full: Not a bad course, flat enough, mixed terrain. Narrow in places and as you come back on yourself I found myself at 6k going hard and running head on into oblivious mums chatting doing their casual sunday pace (which is fine for them, but coming the other way and having to weave around them wasnt fun). So that could be improved. Considering no chip timing, its run on paths (so no closed roads), banana, standard red/white/blue medal and water at the end, and it used a cheaper ARC permit rather than the UKA, I sort of wonder where the entry fee went. Its alrite if you live close by, but wouldn't be one you'd travel any distance for. That being said, outside of the dorney lake 10ks in the winter/spring, its one of the fastest/flattest in the area.

In short: Flat and friendly......
In full: A delightful flat course, but with a few tight bends, made more challenging when the fast leaders are on their way back along the towpath and coming straight at you....
A classic 10k, no problem parking, enthusiatic marshalls, thankyou and a medal and banana to finish.....all good.....see you next year.

In short: Just big enough yet low-key
In full: Pros: Nice course along fields, towpath and a little bit of town. Well measured and marshalled.
Cons: Started 10 minutes late for some reason (PA system terrible)

Did a PB despite first mile of course being crowded and narrow in places. All in all a very pleasant race with just enough people to make it appeal to all levels.

In short: No-frills race
In full: Turn up and run ... old-fashioned 10K race, bare bones, no chip timing or new-fangled stuff like that. Good start/finish venue and a decent flat course with a few twists and turns. And well marshalled and with good baggage stow as always with PP events. See you next year!
