In short: Challenging, enjoyable, well organised - great race!
In full: Very enjoyable race - well organised, and marshalls were very encouraging. And definitely liked the post-race goodies / t-shirt! Was good that road, woodland and canal towpaths all featured - definitely added to the challenge and interest. I wore trail shoes in the end - on balance, probably the right decision for me.

Was my first ever race, but marshalls were very helpful in directing me where I needed to be, which helped the pre-race nerves. Will definitely be back next year!

In short: A great mixed trail race with a lovely 1 and a half mile uphill just before the end. Superb friendly marshalls
In full: A great mixed trail race with a lovely 1 and a half mile uphill just before the end. Superb friendly marshalls all the way round although overly encouraging at the 500yd point of keep it up your doing great!! Would have liked a bit more off road as trail shoes were needed for start/finish and tow path but then at least 3 mile on road so feet were feeling it at the end.
Overall though a great race run by a great team and only 10 minutes from home so will definately be back next year.

In short: This was a first time run at off roading for me and my two boys. We all loved the experience, and we'll definitely be back to do it again next year :)

In short: Pure joy (but then I had a good run!)
In full: Excellent organisation, lessons learnt from last year. Encouraging marshalls throughout. Aslo great camaraderie among the runners, at last those I chatted with afterwards. A challenging course at times, but if you're ready for the 2k long road climb near the end, you can handle it - I did this time! And to finish, another good technical T-shirt, and well stocked good bag (although odd the raisins were 'best before February 2012"!
With the demise of the Arkendale 10k, this is now probably my favourite 10k race.

In short: Not a great deal of Woodland, but definitely a challenge
In full: The start of the race was delayed by 30 minutes due to runners having to pick up their race numbers and timing chips before the race and there not being enough people available to hand them out. Not, as one rather unfriendly marshall told us, 'because of people like us who arrive late'. Actually, we weren't late and neither were the other 100 people in the queue! Thankfully the rest of the marshalling was pleasant and encouraging.

The race itself was pleasant enough for most of the way - little woodland though, and a horrific 1 mile hill up along a main road.

Not one I'd do again.

In short: Rural, urban, industrial, a true Yorkshire run!
In full: A great mix of terrain, starting in the woods, heading down through housing where a family handed out glasses of water (thanks, guys!)and everyone cheered us on. Then we were running alongside industrial units before hitting the canal towpath. The one-mile-hill at mile 4.5 was a killer, but the friendly marshals gave good warning and encouraged us all the way. The downhill finish was great and the welcome warm. I know there were a few teething problems with administration, but other than that, I loved it. Thanks, Stadium Runners.

In short: Everyone should do it for the feel good factor at the end.
In full:
The course was a tough one, plenty of up hill and down dale. Well worth doing though the sense of achievement far outweighs the ache in my legs this week.
The three things that made it for me:-
1, The welcome, it was quite clear I was not in a running club and might struggle but not once did I feel alienated.
2, The run its self was pleasant, challenging and well thought out.
3, The new buddy type system, a person to run with and pace you when your struggling. This made my race happen and without it I would have really struggled. A great idea to help new runners like me who want to try these things.
