In short: Improved route this year In full: I did this last year when it was held in October - the move to July is definitely a positive. The inclusion of children's races was important as it brought loads of families to the event building a friendly and excitable atmosphere. This year's route was also an improvement on previous years, removing the horribly long grass sections in preference of road/pavement - much better! I just wish I hadn't been away on holiday the week before, meaning I was struggling towards the end. That said the crowd support in the final 400m was definitely uplifting. In short: A thoroughly positive experience from start to finish. A true festival of running. In full: Every aspect of this event was positive. As a parent, runner and resident of Ware this festival of running made me proud to be part of this sporting occasion. I'm so looking forward to next year. Date of review: July 13, 2015
In short: A real family festival atmosphere In full: Really encouraging marshals making it a great event for new runners as well as a challenging run for more experienced. Date of review: July 13, 2015
In short: Warm, friendly, cheerful and fab cake! In full: What a great day - and a really good idea to offer something slightly less challenging than the traditional Ware 10. Lovely part of the world, and the marshals were just terrific. One of the most friendly events I've ever done :) Date of review: July 13, 2015
In short: Nice friendly race In full: First time at New Ware 10. Definitely one for a dry day - I can't imagine how miserable it must have been last year (I was doing a different race on the same day and well remember the conditions!) It's a small and friendly race, and although marketed as multi-terrain I was not expecting so much of the route to be on grass (I am not a fan of grass!) Other than that, it's a very pleasant route - a couple of uphill drags which are almost unnoticeable on the first lap but really quite punishing on the second, and one very narrow uphill section just after the start (and start of the second lap) which slowed down an otherwise speedy getaway.
The marshalls did an excellent job and must be some of the friendliest I've experienced at any race, offering lots of encouragement all the way round the course.
My only negative would be that I wish when offering a technical t-shirt as the only 'takeaway' race organisers would consider supplying them in women's sizes as well as men's. Many female runners are petite and are swamped by even the smallest men's t-shirt. All of mine end up being given to my husband who does not even run. Having worked for my t-shirt, I would very much like to be able to wear it! Date of review: October 13, 2014
In short: well done ware joggers In full: second time I've done this race, did it last yr when it was cold wet & miserable, this yr it was perfect running conditions a big thanku to the marshals who as always do a superb job, it runs like clockwork easy parking very friendly Date of review: October 12, 2014
