In short: One of the best half marathons.
In full: Got to do this 'cos it's my "home" race. Getting older and slower though so no PB. Despite the local bias, a superbly organised and supported event. Oversubscribed for first time in its history so no registrations on the day. Interesting and pretty course for first 10 miles. The later section on former railway line is visually uninspiring just when fatigue is setting in and inspiration is desperately needed! Great atmosphere in town centre finish. Definitely a date for the 2008 calender.

In short: Good atmosphere but water stations not frequent enough.
In full: It was a bit hard to wait until 5 mile marker before there were any water stations - as a new runner with little experience I used pervious race as a marker and the water provision there was more frequent.

In short: Those hills seems bigger this year
In full: My only grip...was the women handing out t-shirts....SMILE...or try running 13.1...people tend to be excited after finishing and its not nice to be greeted with a grunt and carry on drinking coffee...sorry.

In short: What more can you ask from a Half Marathon?
In full: 2nd time I have done this race, felt dreadful, over trained and still enjoyed it, we all complain, but the lap around the town centre at the start, but it is magnificent anticipation for the long hike out to Baswich, couple of hills which were definitely mountains last year and then a long chuck into town - for 12 quid - what can you say, lots of water bananas and a great atmosphere.

In short: Great race and free banana!
In full: I ran a personal worst as I've been distinctly off-form lately, but this os usually the kind of race I thrive on. A couple of difficult hills but these were balanced out by smooth downhill sections. Excellent marshalling and great spectator support - one to do next year for sure.

In short: A very enjoyable 1st half mara!
In full: The race was very well organised. Mile markers were clear, drinks stations excellent - even toilets en-route.
Thanks to the organisers and helpers.
