In short: Ticks all the boxes but.... In full: There wasn't much wrong with this race. Good car parking and facilities at the school, easy late sign up, friendly, encouraging marshals, some scenic parts in the Broadlands estate and a nice medal at the end. The mile or 2 on the industrial estate wasn't great but you can't expect glorious scenery in Southampton. It was also a massive bargain compared to last weeks extortionate Great South. The problem was it all just felt a bit clubby to me....it seemed to be about 95% club runners and this was reflected in the finishing times. Normally I would have been happy with my time but ended up feeling a bit despondent as i was so near the back. This might not bother others though so dont let it put you off if you want to do a well-organised 10 miler. Date of review: November 17, 2011

In short: New PB for me by 3 mins! In full: New PB for me by 3 mins! I quite like a couple ups and downs, so this was perfect. Shame about the gate at the start as it meant we all rushed off, only to come to a holt 100m down the road, also narrow gates/paths in a couple places held me back, but really liked the whole event. Definately would do this again. Date of review: November 7, 2011

In short: Very well organised event In full: This was my first event and I found the Lordshill Team to be first class. From entering late, giving advice, support on the course, signage on the course, everything was spot on. I was apprehensive coming to an event on my own but cannot speak highly enough of all involved. I'll be back....with my friends! Date of review: November 7, 2011

In short: Fantastic race around beautiful parts of Southampton with wonderful support In full: This was my first time running the Lordshill 10 mile and it is definitely the BEST 10 mile race in the whole of Lordshill. Beautiful scenery in the Broadlands estate which is not usually open to the public. This race is a credit to the organisers and the club that host it. Superb cheery marshalls, good venue and a flat course with lot of PB potential. I got a 5 minute pb!! Drinks at finish, good quality medal and perfect weather!! Date of review: November 6, 2011

In short: Great 10 miler, lots of variety, very well marshalled In full: My first time. A great race - real variety, and so well marshalled! The first couple of miles seem to be constantly uphill, but after that the course is in the countryside around Lee, and that is really good. At mile 9 there is a final incline, and then you can push for the finish. All in all, an excellent 10 miler Date of review: November 6, 2011

In short: Lots of clubs involved but still a welcoming local race In full: This race manages to take you out into the countryside from urban Southampton and despite the run through a large industrial estate, you also run through part of Broadlands. Good organisation and marshalls very encouraging. Well done Lordshill. Date of review: November 6, 2011

In short: A good local 10 miler In full: This is a well organised local 10 miler attracting lots of club runners as part of the Hampshire Road Race League. The organisation is good. No real hills, but it never quite seems flat. Bargain price which makes last week's Great South look criminal. Quality coffee and cake at the race HQ!!! Date of review: November 6, 2011

In short: Good Local Race with PB Potential In full: This is a good local league race which has serious PB potential even with the small off road parts. Facilities are adequate and organisation is good. What's nice is that the organisers listened to feedback from last year and sorted out minor niggles. Well done. Date of review: November 6, 2011
