In short: Superb, great fun, great locations, well organised, lovely atmosphere In full: Really enjoyed this race, one of the best. Something special and eccentric about running around in the woods, the intimate single track section, the madness of the mud and the challenge of the hills. The woodland environment, in the autumn really brings home why we love to run and Ashford Tri Clun certainly know how to organise a tough, friendly, atmospheric and thoroughly enjoyable race. In short: Great race - as ever In full: Following yesterday's deluge of rain the course was even more mud soaked than normal but that just makes it more fun! Have done this event for last 3 years, is always well marshalled and organised by Ashford Tri Club. Something a bit different for roadsters. Will definitely be back next year. In short: Fantastic location, challenging, scenic, very well organised, friendly and very very muddy In full: I ran this race in 2011 so I knew the course but the mud was much deeper than expected and the course was very slippery. Nice t shirt, a friendly run, well organised and a great location - what more could you want? Thank you to the marshalls and organisers who encouraged the runners on their way. Would I do it again? Most definitely (as long as the washing machine survives the copious amount of mud still attached to my running gear!) Date of review: November 16, 2014
In short: Great local event! Excellent course, good organisation, great value. In full: This is a great local event. Set in the beautiful Kent countryside on a muddy and rolling course through the woods on a crisp winter's morning in November. The atmosphere was superb, with the start finish area right next to the car park in a small enclosure in the trees. The course is generally all wooded trails with some serious mud and a few hard packed trails. Its quite undulating with one or two short steep sections with rope assists for good measure. Pace was pretty quick throughout - although its not really a fast course. Nice T shirt thrown in too! All in all a great day out and one i'll definiately do again!
In short: Challenging and dirty but beautiful, fun and friendly In full: A great race for my first dver cross country. Starting with ankle deep mud and Grand National style hurdle we were off. Interesting, twisty and undulating small trails through scenic woods eventually gave way to tough muddy hills, even requiring climbing ropes in 2 places. A marshal in a Satan mask early on should have been a clue. Really fun and interesting but glad to finish. Well organised by a friendly crew. Love the teeshirt included in the entry fee. In short: Wonderful! But perhaps a medal In full: This is a great trail run, hard but fair I think I would say. Very well organised and I’ll be aiming to run it again next year. And there was a nice atmosphere from both the runners and the organisers.
My only complaint is that there was no medal, I would happily pay a few extra quid to get something nice and shiny, I’m not so bothered about timing chips but a memento of such a great race would have been a lovely little addition. How about it guys? Date of review: November 20, 2012
In short: "Ive got to run up another hill!?!?!!!" In full: Fantastic! Friendly, encouraging marshals a wonderful cross country course......you know I wouldn't normaly walk up half those hills!!! In short: The best marshalls, the best scenery, the best race! In full: And the best hills! We were warned to keep something in the tank for the second half.... This was my first off-road race and I enjoyed it more than any of the road races I have done. Brilliant, honest fun for a Sunday morning! Date of review: November 18, 2012
