In short: Oh the mud and hills and more mud and hills
In full: WOW, what a race. I did the dash with my boys which was wet and muddy to say the least and then onto the rampage. After slipping over in glorious mud in the first half mile I decided the only way to make it round was to go straight through the knee high mud patches. The hills are hills and the mud was non stop and deep. Much harder than I expected, although probably my own fault as living 3 miles down the road, I thought the hills can't be that bad nothing to challenge round here and the weather hasn't been that wet. Fantastic atmosphere, fantastic organisation, superb medal, great price, lovely goody bags/medals for the kids. My best race of 2012 a great way to close this years racing. Thanks to all that helped to make a truly brilliant fun race. WILL DEFINATELY BE BACK NEXT YEAR.

In short: Very steep hills going up but led to long easy downhills
In full: Great race on road, tracks, grass, mud and down a stream (ex footpath) over stiles and through very narrow gates! Interesting for the the tour of Painswick secret paths and famous church yard if nothing else! Distance estimate was slightly economical, I clocked 6.7 km on the Garmin!

In short: How much fun is it possible to put into excruciating climbs?!?!?
In full: This race was opened to all after being run as a club-only race last year. Very friendly atmosphere but a tough race for just 4 miles! One climb seemed to go on forever. Views fro the top are breathtaking though... now, if only I'd had any breath left...
