In short: Hard work but friendly - a new favourite race ! In full: I loved this race. We arrived early and the village hall was well organized so we could collect our numbers and chips. Really welcoming with hot or cold drinks and cake available (free but you could make a donation). The race itself was very muddy, boggy in places it was a battle to stay upright in some places. I loved it, smiled the whole time. It was well marshaled by friendly, supportive volunteers & a water station at the half way mark. Lots of support at the finish too. Really impressed with the tech t-shirt and I liked the "buff" neck tubes that were available for only £2. One of the most enjoyable and friendly races I've run - will be back next year. In short: Nice race, I enjoyed it. In full: Lovely weather, what seemed like a cold morning quickly warmed up. The terrain was fairly good, not too muddy but personally I found the hard earth quite heavy going on the ankles so I struggled a bit at the beginning. Very friendly crowd which was great since I traveled over on my own from North Wales. I will come back and do it again.
A big thanks to the marshals and to all the volunteers who must have been very busy baking those lovely cakes at the end! Date of review: March 3, 2013
In short: very good, well organised challenging10k In full: Enjoyed my first time at this well organised event despite the very windy conditions meaning some slow times - well done DK! My only gripe was the placing of the kilometer markers - apparently I did 2K in 6 mins and 5K in 19 (nearly a PB!). Unfortunately my 10K time was not so quick! Date of review: January 23, 2012
In short: A fabulous xc race In full: It was a great race, yes windy and yes a little muddy, but the variety of terrain and challenges made it really enjoyable. Well done everyone! Date of review: January 22, 2012
In short: A proper off-road race In full: A great mix of grassy fields, some muddy patches, footpaths, tracks through woodland and some short stretches of road to speed you up. Excellent marshalling by locals who are raising funds for the new Blymhill Village Hall which made an excellent race HQ. Date of review: January 22, 2012
