In short: Nice race, I enjoyed it.
In full: Lovely weather, what seemed like a cold morning quickly warmed up. The terrain was fairly good, not too muddy but personally I found the hard earth quite heavy going on the ankles so I struggled a bit at the beginning. Very friendly crowd which was great since I traveled over on my own from North Wales. I will come back and do it again.

A big thanks to the marshals and to all the volunteers who must have been very busy baking those lovely cakes at the end!

In short: Fab Event
In full: Thanks to DK Running Club for another fantastic event.

This years event was delayed from January, due to the snow, and the day was glorious if a little cold.

Fortunately after last years rain the fields have started to dry up, and the ground was quite good under foot.

I had an absolute shocker, but still enjoyed it regardless.

Will be back next year, but would suggest a permanent move to March for this event as the weather was so much better.

In short: very good, well organised challenging10k
In full: Enjoyed my first time at this well organised event despite the very windy conditions meaning some slow times - well done DK! My only gripe was the placing of the kilometer markers - apparently I did 2K in 6 mins and 5K in 19 (nearly a PB!). Unfortunately my 10K time was not so quick!

In short: Cracking little event
In full: Missed this last year due to deadly man flu !!

Loved it this year, very interesting & varied course through fields, tracks, woods, and quiet roads.

Excellent support, a nice buff handed out to all finishers, and nice range of drinks & cakes in the village hall.

One to add to you race calendar each year.

In short: A proper off-road race
In full: A great mix of grassy fields, some muddy patches, footpaths, tracks through woodland and some short stretches of road to speed you up. Excellent marshalling by locals who are raising funds for the new Blymhill Village Hall which made an excellent race HQ.

In short: Bottleneck start added to boggy terrain and styles equals challenging for a fast time.
In full: Start point was a bit narrow, which led to a bit of a bottleneck and meant a slow jog for the first few hundred yards. Soon opened up though and plenty of room on the fields for overtaking. The terrain was really quite boggy in places and I feared I might lose a trainer or two! There were a decent couple of inclines which seemed to separate the field. The course was well marked and well marshalled with presumably enthusiastic locals. All in all an enjoyable morning. Thank you to the organisers, see you next year!
