In short: The actual race was very fun but you never start a race early. There was lots of people including myself who were still walking to the start when we noticed that the race had started and were already 300 yards down the course!

In short: Poor conditions but good intentioned race.
In full: I feel like this is a great run if you are a beginner/ someone doing the race as a fun run. The race was very light hearted, friendly and had a nice kids race beforehand. The atmosphere was laid back. I wold say that it isn't a PB course. Unfortunately the course was very muddy, which is no fault of the organisers. The start time was early and a couple of runners missed the start as a consequence. There wasn't any mulled wine as advertised, but there was plenty of mince pies and xmas puddings on offer. Nice family event but maybe not suited to serious runners.

In short: for a first time race it was great! Such a good atmosphere
In full: What a hoot! The RD put this race on at very very short notice. I take my Santa hat off to him. It was a great fun day in horizontal rain in a near mud bath, dressed as ill fitting Santa. I came second to last, but wouldnt have it anyother way. What fun! I do hope they do it again next year. Maybe a change of route or even venue, but I would do it again even if it didnt change. Great for beginners to up their mileage. Super happy marshalls and mince pies and Mulled Wine to finish. Happy Christmas! (oh and the medal is possibly the prettiest medal of my whole hoard)
