In short: Good Route - shame about the organisation! In full: I can not believe the organisers did not arrange portaloos! 750 runners and 2 toilets provided - what a joke. Spent 30 mins in the queue the race was delayed and managed to get to the start line just as the 10 second countdown began....so a stressful start to the race :(
The route was good but the twists and turns sometimes did slow you down. It was well marshalled.
Good quality t-shirt - goody bag consisted of a banana and nutrigrain bar.
Would I do it again? Probably as a local 10k for me and I did achieve a PB! Date of review: July 13, 2015
In short: last year there was toliets which cauaed delays at the start...this year problem sorted? errr no. same problem. In full: The route is reasaonably flat, a few twists and turns, gentle inclines which means its not as fast as you think it will be. Last year we were told the toilets didn't turn up as a fault of the suppliers...this year same problem? sorry about the pun but its an inconvenience. only one loo in the park so we found a friendly café that let us in before it opened. medal was same as last year....and the wording rubs off from the ribbon. slightly disappointing after last year. In full: Very nice route with plenty of variety and no hills, particularly enjoyed belting through Gloucester town centre on a Sunday morning! Marshalls/organisation v good. V good useful tech tee and nice medal. Was going to put something about absence of loos but this seems to have been fault of suppliers not organisers so I'll let them off! All in all a cracking morning out and a PB for me! G10k definitely on my fixture list for next year :-) Date of review: July 17, 2014
In short: Well organised, flat course, definitely recommend it In full: A well organised race, running past all Gloucester's tourist sites: the cathedral, the docks, the high street. If you want to run a 10k race without hills and get a fast time, this is the race for you! Date of review: July 13, 2014
In short: new organisers did a great job - nice route, pretty quick course In full: At £16 it wasn't the cheapest 10k - but I think it was value for money. The route took in city centre roads, Gloucester Quay shopping centre, the canal and the park. The majority of the course was flat with a few small inclines. The organisers were let down by cowboys who delivered the portaloos late - but that was out of their control. Overall the organisation and marshalling was top notch. There were plenty of water stops available with (not sparkling thankfully) water in bottles. Goody bag was adequate - tech t-shirt and respectable medal included. Thank you for organising a very good race Date of review: July 13, 2014
In short: excellent atmosphere on a rainy day! In full: First time event in Glos and really well organised, plenty of marshalls-roads closed etc, no complaints at all and great atmosphere at the warm up. Actually got a real medal not a wooden one and fab goody bag with quality stuff for post race-a brilliant first event-heres to the next Glos 10k Date of review: February 10, 2013
