In short: Nice local atmosphere. Great for a PB and worthy cause
In full: Nice area to run, well organized. Nice medal and smooth registration. Nice to do a 10k so close in the New Year

In short: Not bad at all!
In full: I really enjoyed this 10K. It was was quite a treck for me to travel to but it was the best 10K I have ran in a while in terms of performance.
It was a very cold day and the route was all open space but I just manned up and got on with it. I would imagine on a warmer/sunnier day it would be lovely race running by the lake.
I thought that it was very well organised, the girls from age UK were great and very helpful.
I do agree with another comment on here that if 1000 people did turn up for this race I think it would have been over croweded and possibly not as enjoyable. Not sure I will be back to do it again but still enjoyed taking part.

In short: Loved it!
In full: Great venue, great organisation, great marshals, great to meet Liz Kershaw, great aerobic warm up, great medal, great T shirt, great high 5 in the home straight, and my name called out as I crossed the line. GREAT.

In short: A good first effort.
In full: Overall a really nice run, though very cold.

Pros
- Lots of parking within a few minutes walk of the start.
- Good warm-up (though not at 0930 so a lot of people were standing around for a while).
- Wide section just after the start line to allow runners to spread out.
- Very flat route (just one small climb) so PB potential.
- Medal, drink and Mars bar (and T-shirt sent in the post) so good value.

Cons
- Very exposed for most of the route, so on a cold windy day don't forget your gloves and hat.
- No support around the course, but this isn't too important for a 10k.

And obviously when I say 'no support' this isn't counting the marshalls. My appreciation for the volunteers increases tenfold in the conditions yesterday, so a massive thank you to them for standing around a lake and fields for a couple of hours.

My only concern would be how well this would all work if the maximum limit of 1000 people turned up, rather than the 350 this year...

But overall, would definitely do this again.

In short: Nice local race ideal for first timers
In full: Relaxed flat route and friendly organisers but overall feeling of lack of spark and excitement. Mostly from runners.
