In short: Not Good.
In full: Where in the pack did it mention a chip and from where it should be collected? If it did, I didn't see it, or receive that information.
Where was the free t-shirt mentioned on this site?
Where was the free beanie hat mentioned in the pack?
Why were people not handing these out at the end?
Why was nothing, other than the course, signed?
Most of the marshalls might as well have not been there as they were both cheerless and unable to answer questions.
As you can see from my other race reviews, I am very easy to please when it comes to races. But this was far too messy in terms of organisation.

At least the BHF got my money.

A word of advice to the BHF. Don't waste your charity's money on posting pointless glossy leaflets, and perhaps instead invest it in signs, or at the very least, CLEAR pre-race instructions.

It's a nice place to run and for a good cause so I wouldn't rule out running it again, but would I know what to expect. Perhaps post lace chips out in the pack.

In short: Great test of your road race 10k pace.
In full: I thought I had my sub 50 in the bag but those last few hills took their toll.I'll be back in June to break my time today.

In short: Mud in yer eye
In full: Good pre-race info, managed to find the car park eventually and parked up in the pouring rain. There was chip timing, which was good, but the chips came in an envelope with a number on to cross reference against the results - this was papier mache by the time I finished! We also got handed a free beanie hat which was most welcome until we warmed up.

This is definitely a trail run - uneven ground, very muddy, undulating - so you had to keep your eyes peeled; but very well signposted both in terms of the directions and the km markers. I think the course was a little short - at the 7km marker my Garmin was just over 6.5km but GPS is a bit hit and miss in the forest. It was good to see a variety of adventurous dogs also taking part - hope they all like baths!

Nice downhill finish with lots of support from - by now very wet - spectators, a medal and some water (which was just rubbing salt in the wound, frankly ;-))

The only downside was getting out of the car park. We didn't know we had to register the car to get out - it wasn't in the joining instructions - so we had to haggle via the intercom at the barrier to be let out. Not great when you've just run 10km in the cold and rain. It would have been better to have someone at the gate checking our car park vouchers.

Thanks to the marshalls and supporters - your cheers are also appreciated.

In short: Excellent fun in the rain
In full: A very friendly fun race. It felt more like fun run than a proper 'race'. You were even allowed to bring your dog along which was a first! My dogs loved it, although they were very very dirty and loved the attention they got.
The only thing which was a bit annoying was there were no 'race loos' although I know we weren't far from the visitors centre
