In short: A refreshing way to start the year
In full: This was my first race of the year :) and it was a very fast course. I must admit I was expecting more of a run by the seaside and was prepared for the icy North sea winds (some people were running in vests and shorts - madness, bravery or hangover cures!), but most of the course was around the streets and golf course of Cleethorpes.
This made the race faster though and everyone seemed to be going like the clappers at the start which helps with the PB's.
There was quite a good crowd at various places and the marshalls were all very helpful and supportive - I thought most people would still be in bed nursing a hangover.
If you want to start the year off with a morale boosting run then I would definitely recommend this.

In short: My first ever race, family loved it, everyone supportive, good way to spend the day.
In full: Having just started running I entered for the experience so I don't have any other races to compare with. I was apprehensive to start with as I didn't know what to expect. My wife and son came to watch and had a great experience. My son who is 4 couldn't understand why I didn't win! Well I enjoyed it and came in around 52mins which is a PB based upon my training runs. I am still waiting to see the results as the website hasn't been updated yet. Would have appreciated a race map up front, I did go to the cricket club to view the details but found it to be locked up during the day time.

Anyway a great day had by all, as long as I am fit I will be there next year to see if I can beat my time and place!

In short: Good race, well organised
In full: The one issue i have is that they use a megaphone at the start of the race to announce ?? and as i was near the back i couldn't hear a word of it! Perhaps the person with the megaphone could stand in the middle to do the talking bit then go to the front for the start??!?!?
Thanks to all encouraging marshalls.

In short: The classic Cleethorpes 10k ...
In full: The course is not particularly inspiring but the date makes the race special. Although described by a lady in the loos as "pancake flat", the gradual inclines (and the night before) make it feel a slightly tougher course.

The organisation was great as always with good support from the marshalls and a very welcome tea making service back at base.

Definitely one to do year after year

In short: Was hoping for a sea view on the run!
In full: I enjoyed the run because I achieved a new PB but would have liked it better if it had been a run with a scenic view!

In short: Good race with pb potential
In full: Just one slight moan, at the start there was an announcement about no headphones...why wasn't this included in the race instructions that were posted out???
