In short: Loved it
In full: I have done several marathons, and this one is my favourite for the route and scenery. The organisational and marshalling was fab and the route was stunning, with great villages, gentle hills and a fab finish along the sea front back into town (I didn't even mind the head wind). A great marathon to do.

In short: Well organised, friendly, great atmosphere, picturesque scenery
In full: Thank you to all involved - the race was so friendly and well organised, with fantastic local support. Plenty of water stations & energy drinks too if you want them, and handy that the water is in bottles. Easterly headwind for the last 4 miles was taxing, more so than the gradual climb up Waterworks Valley.

In short: Well organised, marshals at all key points, awash with water stations, too much traffic at one point, other than that a super event well done to all.

In short: loved it despite it being a personal disaster
In full: Trained hard for this. Flew out on the Saturday from Birmingham and stayed in ST Hellier. Went to the pasta party(small plates) and had two dinners. The marathon was interesting. I new I was injured but my left calf tore at 0.8 miles. It was strapped up but I wanted the medal. The climb up past the fishing lakes is lovely. The course heads left and off to the airport. A few twists and turns then a nice run in the shade to StAubins then 4 miles of, er , hell. I actually loved the course although its a bit wonky in places. Went to Aquasplash and did all the chutes, wave pool etc. McDonalds and flew back that afternoon. Had a brilliant time and would recommend it to anyone. Best thing is I think the course is a tad short.

In short: Well organised race, friendly atmosphere but circumstances outside the organiser's control i.e. the high temperatures meant a slower race for quite a few.

In short: I got a course record!!!!!
In full: .....sadly not for the fastest running time, but for the slowest time that the course has been run in. But still chuffed that I got a record; and that I finished!!!

Great support from both locals and the marshals: especially the two sweepers on the bike who were very patient whilst having to continually stop and wait for me; the 2 marshals who filled up my bladder bag; the marshal who had brought along bananas as emergency food, as no food was supplied, and the police man who followed me on a scooter for the last 5 miles when all the other marshals were pulled from the race and was very encouraging even when I kept stopping to walk along the promenade - and all the people at the finish who encouraged me over the finishing line - including one of the finishers who came over to shake my hand - much appreciated.

I loved the relay teams starting 30 mins after the main race: it was great having all those encouraging comments as they went past, and then the hoots from their cars as after they had finished and were making their way back, were still encouraging me on. It all helped!!!!

Finally a big thank you to my husband, who despite finishing the marathon way before me, came back along the course, to encourage me along the last mile to the finish.

In short: Short course and not a road marathon
In full: Advertised everywhere as a road marathon and it's not, probably a quarter of the course is off road and I've since discovered that the UKA permit is indeed for a Multi terrain event. Very disappointed, I wasted a weekend and a lot of money going to Jersey to do this race. The course was also short so not as many folk did PB's as they thought. The first half of the course is lovely. Good support and kind marshalls but not one marshall did anything about the idiots wearing headphones, which were supposed to be banned from this race.
I did speak to the race director and he didn't seem to be aware that the race was advertised as road! But he did apologise (he was a very nice chap) but I doubt they'll do anything to put this right so I will have to take the matter further.
