In short: Fantastic muddy and wet XC Race
In full: Thoroughly enjoyed The Hardwick X-Stream. It was very muddy and very wet but I loved every minute of it. It helped that it was such a lovely morning. The marshal's were all very good at catching me, as I went flying over the ditches! The atmosphere between the runner's as I was going round, was also very uplifting. A nice memento at the end too. Well worth the entrance fee.

In short: Small, friendly, muddy and fun!!!
In full: Normally I look at longer events and in previous years I've been concentrating on marathon training and have ignored this event. Big mistake! If you want a break from the road running but don't fancy going all out on something like hellrunner then this is perfect. Friendly crowd, no gimmicks, a well marked course, the perfect balance of ups, downs, water and mud and a decent medal at the end and all for a tenner. Bargain. I shall be back next year to better my time and finishing place of 97th.

In short: Lovely little x-country, my favourite local event by far...
In full: The weather was a lot better in the preceeding week this year than last year, and it made a big difference to the course and the conditions.
2011 was waist deep streams and sticky wet mud, 2012 was only knee deep and more sure underfoot.
That (plus some additional fitness) meant i bagged an 11 minute improval over lat years time, and once again I really enjoyed the whole event.
It's quite a small affair but is now a race that I will return to year after year.
Great effort from the Bearbrook Runners...

In short: mud glorious mud, and 5 water crossings for the hell of it
In full: I always enjoy this race. A real x-country race, of muddy fun. I was well surprised with my time, a new pb for the course, as I'm not as fit as I was last time I ran it. I probably paced this race a lot better this year. Bearbrook running club always organise a good race, and with a lot of marshalls out on the course, at the water crossings and ditches everyone was well looked after. A good mix of fast and fun runners, so this is a good race for anyone that wants to have some muddy good fun. A big thanks to everyone at Bearbrook.

In short: It's not called X-Stream for nothing! Waist deep water and lots of mud.
In full: Lots of fun once you get used to not feeling your feet after the first stream crossing.

At times I ended up waiting to cross the streams but that's my fault for not running faster to them, and having now seen how it works I understand it's best to give a real dash to the first stream.

One of the most slippery races I've done due to the mud, and at times the aim is just to find a route that works.

I enjoyed the race - parking was difficult but only due to the weather conditions (the field for parking was only accessible to 4 by 4s for good reason) and the marshals were very friendly and helpful.
This is definitely a race to try.
The race momento is great - something entirely in keeping with the event.

Thanks to all who organised the race.

In short: Very Wet, Very Muddy and Very Fun.
In full: 1st time runner of this race. The kind of race that makes you smile at the end. Streams up-to your belly button and enough mud to lose your shoes in. Bring on next year im hooked.
