In short: Fast paced race feel, very hilly, great challenge for my first 10k race and not fun run I actually got a PB here must have been the competitive atmosphere

In short: Hills, Hills, Hills
In full: 1st time runner of this race. Very good race. Not sure about the cramped start, but once onto the main road then that's no problem. Maybe markers for anticapated finishing times at the start to try to get runners in some sort of order may make things better. On the whole whilst disappointed with time (49m), I would recommend this race to anyone as it is a real challange and miles (excuse the pun) better to have a tough course than a boring flat out and back 10K. Well done to everyone involved.

In short: A good challenge
In full: My 2nd year of doing this so I had an idea this time of how hard it was and a time to beat.
Good organisation but I couldn't hear a word the starter was saying (why don't they use megaphones?) Managed to take 3 mins out of last years time according to my Garmin (can't find the official results yet). Will def do it again next year.

In short: Challenging and enjoyable in equal measure
In full: My first attempt at this race, and I really enjoyed it - this was a very enjoyable different challenge to the usual flatter courses. Agree with other reviews that you do need to be used to hill running to give this course a serious go. The downhill last km was really good fun! I'll definitely be back next time.

In short: Tough, yet enjoyable
In full: A test of mental and physical strength. The crowded start wasn't ideal and the uphill first mile was slow if, like me, you began too far back and had to weave between runners. Miles two and four had long, steep climbs and in the middle there was a vicious little hill for good measure!
The fifth mile was a sharp descent and on 'jelly' legs as hard as any of the uphill sections. The remainder of the race was a bit congested, making overtaking difficult, thanks to the need to stick to paths. Not a PB course, yet an excellent run and a good test for any standard of runner.
The organisation was up and down, plenty of car parking made life easy, and the 11am start time was handy. On the downside a bit more clarity at the start might have helped get people in order and sorted out.
The race is well worth a try, and practising hills beforehand (both up and down)is essential.

In short: Undulating is an understatement...!
In full: A lengthy but gradual climb from the off, for the first third of the run, makes the start quite steady going. The three further inclines are all much shorter but considerably steeper. Has a wonderful last mile that, if you've saved your legs, will be very quick.

The event was very well stewarded and ran like clockwork. Was well supported on the route and plenty of people at the finish. Support was especially impressive based on the size of the event.

Was really good value for money - £10 entry included a t-shirt and bottle of water at the finish. Hot food on offer and a clothing and shoes stall/area.

Only criticism was the lack of a water stop on the way round. However, this is a race well worth taking part in.

In short: Only my 2nd ever 10k and I managed a PB despite the hills
In full: Didn't realise just how hilly it was but it was a great challenge. A bit congested at the beginning and the end but nothing that held me up. Good organisation in general but the guy giving instructions at the beginning needs a megaphone to make himself heard over the crowd of chatty and excited runners.
