In short: A low key thrash through the rain...
In full: Done this twice now and both times ran in Biblical downpours....but I guess thats the risk you take running in the Beacons in November. Its a good run - but one of those you could kinda do yourself without bothering with anyone organising the race for you if you had a mind to - and if I were to be churlish theres SO little provided that you might even consider doing that...

I know times are hard - and its difficult with so many races being organised these days for races to make a profit, but this cuts down SO much on what they provide that you wonder quite whether its all worth it. From a minimal website, to minimum communication from the organiser, and even no safety pins provided (whats THAT all about) - I think they may just have gone too far into money saving as to make you wonder why they do it.

Having said that its an excellent challenge to set yourself - and the hills aren't so much steep as long - and you neednt be a hardcore fell-runner to do it.

One day I might see the stars with this one... :)

In short: you have to do it once, and then you might not be able to give up
In full: fantastic race, a different experience from anything else, a challenge like no other. I've been to a few of the challenge events which are advertised along the lines of "are you tough enough?" and they are children's playground events compared to this. If you feel you can do this safely then you're missing out by not giving it a go.

In short: Not a race for the uncommitted, in more ways than one!
In full: Great race, very well orgranised and so different to the usual fayre that it makes it worth doing once a year. It's tough; ground conditions, terrain and the fact that you're running in a small pool of light from a head torch all add up to a run that you'll feel proud to have completed. Well done to all there last night in the rain and mist; and to Duncan and all the organisers for a brilliant time - even though my expression might have said different at the end ;)

In short: Another cracker!
In full: Hard race in tough weather. Great blitz spirit out on the trails with people helping each other out. Beware of the bog!

In short: This race/terrain/conditions is the reason I run throught the year, tough event.
In full: This is the race of the year for me. I like the down to earth, no nonsense, no frills feel. All you need is the date, and to turn up focused, fully prepared and ready for a tough ride and you'll have a big grin on your face the next day. The conditions this year were very very wet. Never underestimate how much harder the darkness and conditions make this 20-miler. A wide variety of terrain, narrow tracks, forestry road, bog, mud, road, open mooreland, rocky paths, it has it all. You'll definately earn your sleepwalker medal.

In short: One to Brag about
In full: This is one tough, tough race with weather conditions making it that bit harder still, never been so pleased to see a marshall with a cup of warm tea and eventually the finish line, soaked through. Now looking back so glad I toke part and finished despite slow time.
