In short: Fantastic Organisation, lots of hilly and muddy challenges, great event. In full: Really challenging but enjoyable, the mud was hard work for me but it offered training for muscles I didn't know I had. The organisation was brilliant. Will be back next year thank you. In short: Very very muddy - and who left those hills there? In full: My first ever race - and hopefully the muddiest one I'll ever do! The beginner friendliness rating above is actually an average of a very welcoming bunch of fellow runners and easy organisation, and a course that could easily upset some people! It was very challenging in the very deep mud in places, especially when combined with very steep hills to make it feel like you're running up a stream, some bits would have suited a salmon better than a runner!
I'll be back but will still grumble about the mud! Hoping for a slightly drier one next year! Date of review: February 11, 2013

In short: Another great race! Missed last year in the snow, but was glad to be back this year for all of the mud!! I don't think it has ever been quite this bad!! I loved it, even though I went flying along by the river!!! The mud just adds to the enjoyment!! Date of review: February 10, 2013

In short: Nice to back on the old course - Well done Amazing Feet In full: Considering some of the conditions I have run this race in, it wasn't too bad. The rain held off for most of the race and the mud didn't seem as bad as I remembered it - I only slipped once ! but the hill at the end is as cruel as ever. All in all a great race. In full: Great race. Pair of Mudclaws coped with the muddy sections. Couln't run up the hills but plenty of general running opportunity, just not very fast in my case! Challenging but achievable, the perfect sort of race. Date of review: February 14, 2011

In short: My first time for this race. Was bit worried from previous reports of mud and hills, so had prepared myself for a tough time. I thought the course was great. The muddy parts were nothing a pair of Mudclaws couldn't manage and although I couldn't r Date of review: February 14, 2011

In short: Will I ever get the mud from underneath my toenails? In full: My first time at this event, having run the half marathon a couple of times. Anyone who is at all familiar with the Wyre Forest will know that the hills are going to test you - and it's a fair expectation that you'll get pretty muddy as well. So no complaints that I spent much of the race unable to enjoy the stunningly beautiful scenery for fear of taking my eyes of the track and ending up in a heap, or worse still freezing to death in the river that the course follows for a couple of miles. It was terrific fun (even if you wonder why you bother halfway up some of the more aggressive inclines). As always, Amazing Feet RD did a great job with the organisation - marshalls were friendly and encouraging and the mars bar at the end was more than welcome. I look forward to (hopefully) slightly less muddy conditions at the Half in July! Date of review: February 14, 2011
