In short: OOOOFF!!!! Tough but worth it!!!
In full: Signed up for this as a hill training race for SNOD and it didn't fall short on the hills!!! The course was lovely but the amount of rain in the week prior made it very boggy (knee deep) and very wet in places, very lucky not to lose a shoe at around 5 miles! A dead lamb and the ongoing pheasant shoot also made for extra quirks along the way! The hills were either long or steep or both, however the downs were on the whole runnable without too much of a problem. I would agree with the need for extra water stations on the 16 miler, had a few issues with cramp in the last couple of miles, as it was a pretty sunny day. However, I did know that there were only 3, so could have not been lazy and carried my own. The signs and marshals were on the whole great, however a 4x4 had parked in front of the gate obscuring the sign indicating we needed to go through the gate so nearly took a wrong turn, fortunately the guy behind had run before so knew where to go. Great camaraderie from the rest of the runners, made for a fab Saturday morning jaunt.

Special mention for the medal, I do like a medal, and these are really quirky and unique and a different one for the different distances, Fab!!!

In short: Could quite easily be a classic..
In full: Pros: Amazing Scenery / Friendly banter / A real challenge / Excellent Value / Probably the best medal around!

Cons: Seriously short of water stations. Only 3 visits in 16 long, slow, arduous miles. Signage is limited and more markings are required. I've done about 30 of these trail runs over the last few years and have got lost only 3 times - twice of these have been at Hogweed Muggles.

But it's a great event. I figure if those 2 issues were addressed, it'd be an absolute corker, perhaps my all time favourite.

In short: It was hard, muddy but fun!
In full: Great, thanks for a good day and a nice medal. Only suggestion would be another water point around 6-7 miles.

Thanks

In short: This is a big step up from an on-tarmac 1/2 marathon.
In full: Am preparing for my first marathon in January. This was a very useful test of my fitness and a good way to run over 13.1mls for the first time. 'Train hard, race easy?' I hope so.

In short: I really enjoyed this race.
In full: the scenery was stunning. I thought the course was marked well. Some of the hills were quite soul destroying but the marshalls were very encouraging. Only improvements would be to add 1 or 2 more water stations and I thought the start wasn't very safe (very narrow and uneven)- maybe start half a mile up on the road? I'm being picky though - it was great.

In short: Tougie, but a goodie
In full: Much better organisation this year, with more than enough markings compared to last years effort. Great views, good camaraderie, strong field and long enough to make it a properly memorable outing. One minor gripe would be no water stations for about an hour after mile 4 (we had to cadge some water from a friendly marshalls personal supply!), but that won't stop me being back next year. Great that it's on a Saturday morning, too. Well done!
Ps. Great medal!

In short: An undiscovered gem
In full: Excellent off road race with stunning scenery. Very well marshalled compared to last year and a well marked course. Glad to see that the flour on the ground had been replaced by signs! Special mention to the marshals who were cheery, helpful and supportive. For such a stunning, challenging race am surprised that the entry isn't larger. Will be back next year to tackle those hills!

In short: A good off-road jaunt in the cotswolds
In full: An interesting race, the chip timing seemed a bit over the top, for an off-road race precise timing is not normally the first thing you think of, but perhaps we three races going on virtually simultaneously then perhaps it was necessary. Could have been better marked in place, could have done with more water stations - a gap between 4ish miles and 11ish miles without drinks not ideal, especially as it was a tad warm today! All in all a good fun run!
