In short: Coastal headwind twisty up and down agony lifted by superb marshaling! In full: Honestly? I Personally found this tough and would rather do a full marathon than this course again. as with all Thanet run events the organising and marshalling was top draw, every fluro vest I passed had words of encouragement or some tongue in cheek banter.. my favourite was "cart horse" that's exactly how I felt! took me a mile to stop smiling! The Kent Coastal Marathon in September will be better. Date of review: March 2, 2015
In short: Great race-challenging but interesting route In full: Great race, well organised and great support from all the marshalls, lost count but there must have been a marshall every 1/4mile. The route was perfect, and included some nice coastal sights and the white cliffs and beaches.
Wasn't expecting the hills but this only added to interesting route and build up to a spring marathon.
I'll definitely be coming back and bringing freinds Date of review: March 2, 2015
In short: Perfect Spring Marathon prep! In full: Big thanks as ever to everybody at TRRC for yesterdays race. Went round in a bit under 2.43 and was well happy with that. The breeze was challenging to say the least, but there was great spirit between the runners and all the helpers who were fantastic. Thanks again and see you next year. Date of review: March 2, 2015
In short: Yet again a great race Thanet! In full: Brilliantly organised, lovely views and a real test ahead of any spring marathon. Was gutted that 2014's race didn't happen and delighted that it's come back and better than before. Great marshalls and lots of water stations throughout and helpful chip timing guys, excellent goody bad and fab medal at the end making it all worthwhile. I really struggled this year and couldn't have been happier that the field that we run round in 2013 was cut out of the equation! Will be back for sure next year as will many of my club (Dartford Road Runners). Date of review: March 2, 2015
In short: well organised, enjoyable 20 miler In full: A superbly organised event with plenty of enthusiastic marshals and lots of water stations. Its a rolling course and perfect as a marathon prep. run. I really enjoyed the course, i especially liked the fact we saw our fellow competitors at the turn around so 10/10 from me :) Date of review: March 2, 2015
In short: A great part of a VLM or Brighton training plan In full: Excellent and slickly organised Thanet 20 mile race. The marshalls, water stations and route were all first class. You can really tell this was organised by runners for runners. Well done and thank you Thanet Roadrunners AC. Perhaps next year you could turn down the coastal wind and then it would be truly perfect!. Date of review: March 2, 2015
In short: Brilliant organisation and marshals - ridiculously good value In full: Thanet Roadrunners always put on well organised but challenging events. Run by runners for runners. Everything was really slick. Plenty of bottled water stations, really supportive marshals and a very well organised finish with chip timings, quality technical t shirt, great medal and healthy dog bag. There was good medical cover and such supportive marshals at the finish. Brilliant effort Thanet. Been told this was the first race for the race director. One to be proud of. Bit less wind next year please!!! Date of review: March 1, 2015
