Voted best race in Britain in 2008. A half marathon on trails, incorporating at least 3000 feet of ascent - the height of a Scottish Munro. The route takes in ten tough ascents, and ten tough descents. There are pleasant views, but you won't be able to see much of them because of the sweat stinging your eyes. The entry fee includes a donation to the race charity. Final race fee includes Runner's World entry processing fee, increased license fees from National Trust and fees for St John Ambulance. Online entry only - entry fee unchanged from 2013. Strictly no entries on the day. What they said: "What a magic run" "Awesome" "Fantastic" "Easily harder than a full marathon" "Disgustingly hard" "Lovely finish" "A truly fabulous nightmare" "Great event. It was brutal, but well worth it." See www.trionium.com/terms for race terms and conditions.
