Oooo I ran 8.4k at lunch in the rain without stopping.

Think that's officially my third run this month not counting the dash to the Chinese. So 8.4 + 8.4 + 7.6 = 24.4k not sure what that is in miles but I know it's not enough. Going for 3 lunch runs this week all being well.

Silver - well done on getting out

I'm feeling a bit deflated and exhausted today.  Feel like I should be running! Just don't know what to do

14/05/2012 at 20:51

24.4 kilometers = 15.1614571 miles (thanks be to google)

Maam - its because you did such a good time yesterday! just have a day off today and don't worry about it.  Tomorrow should be better!!!

Thanks Emma, will be out running again tomorrow too so should really life my spirits Think my body is greatful for the rest

Oh, I forgot to say one of the guys running, just infront of me at the beginning was totally barefoot! Not even the minimal shoes, I'm talking no socks or shoes barefoot! It's the first time I've seen it for real

Been trying to see the pics that were taken too but the site hasn't got the ability to search by race number and I haven't got the patience to go through the thousands of pics on there Was hoping to get one too if I could find a nice one

Ma'am forgot to say I liked your race report and pic. The bottlenecks sound like a right pain.

Sounds like you are pushing yourself v hard. Be careful and take it easy. You'll be gutted if you overdo it and can't get out for a while. On the other hand it may give me a chance to catch you up a bit! Haha<img src='/forum/smilies/wink_smiley.gif' />

Em thanks for the .164571 I needed that.

I can't remember how far I've run this week but I think it was a 2k and a 2.6k (miles sounds puny but I'll still convert it) 2.8 miles.

15/05/2012 at 08:57

Is it not possible for everyone to work in miles?  I am guessing we are all using garmins and its only a case of changing  is it just because it looks more  lol  come on tough up and use miles

Rested y'day, club run tonight

15/05/2012 at 09:02
Mal don't be hard on yourself just remember when you, I, all of us couldn't even run to the shops. There are a lot of people out there who will never be able to run a mile. It's all good exercise.

Like you I only ever use km as miles seem piddly in comparison. Haha
15/05/2012 at 09:11
Just seen your post Boo. I'm not sure why I have stuck with km I think it was the couch to 5k thing I started with. Happy to go with miles if you prefer but you've got to admit 8k sounds a lot better than 5m.
15/05/2012 at 09:16

lol I don't to be honest because, well you just know don't you that its not as good  miles is just hard core

15/05/2012 at 09:27

Sadly, my garmin stopped working last night.  Now I have raised a repair call which could take 3 days and tomorrow morning, I will go out and do it 'on guesswork'.

I don't really mind being without it for the run, but I like to have my stats there for afterwards so I know how far, times, calories burned... boo hoo.

Lets hope when I get home tonight, if I try to hard reset my watch again, it'll work....

I definitely don't have a Garmin. Maybe when Little Baby Moo becomes Big Girl Imogen I'll suddenly start clocking up the miles and invest.

Must dash, cheecky baby has got into a kitchen cupboard and is merrily making a mess!

15/05/2012 at 13:19

*cheeky not cheecky, dear me!

15/05/2012 at 16:16

Emma - hope you get the garmin going  pesky things do have a mind of their own at times

Mal - I hope your cupboards had not been emptied my little Moo by the time you got there

We are having storms here at the moment  am contemplating the treadmill

15/05/2012 at 20:18
Not the treadmill - don't do it Boo!!!

It's lovely here this evening but it's been a wet and freezing cold day most of which I've spent on a building site. JOY!

Just thought I'd mention that I've stopped using my Garmin as it takes 10 to 15 mins to find the blinking satellites. Grrrr. I now rely on my trustee digital watch with built in compass (just in case I get lost) and built in barometer (just in case it looks like rain - which it always does). Oh and Goolge maps for distance travelled.

I used to enter all my runs in my Runmeter app but I gave up a while back do I've no idea how many miles I've run.

Planning another 8k ccirvuit tomorrow lunch weather allowing. Can't wait as suddenly it's starting to feel easy again now that my lungs are back in shape.

Hi all,

I've just done an 8k run, sorry Boo, I work in k as all my training plans are in km for the GNR, I do convert it though

Mal - good luck with the cupboards

Silver - good luck for tomorrow run, don't know why your Garmin takes so long, think longest mine has taken is a minute

It will be 4 months tomorrow to the GNR so I thought I'd look back through my diary to see how much training I have done since I got my place, now given I've lost around 4-5 weeks with illness I can proudly say I've done 128 training MILES to date!!!! I'm feeling rather proud of myself at that

Ok, off for shower now then to chill out a bit, or is that sort dive kit as I'm teaching tomorrow

16/05/2012 at 08:52

Yes I actually went on the treadmill  the weather was awful all evening so I made myself do it lol  it reminded me of why I started road running it was so so boring  I did 3 miles and that was enough lol

I have now had confirmation I am in to do Lake Vyrnwy HM on 9th Sept  cant wait (did I just say that  am sure after Silverstone HM I said never again )

Silver - my garmin sometimes takes a while so I switch on before I get ready and leave on the kitchen side, then when I am ready its usually always loaded  but sometimes if it takes forever switching it on and off again helps  not sure why that is but it does

I know I have said it loads of times before but you should all use fetcheveryone.co.uk to record your runs, it tells you so much its great

Maam - where's your pic gone?

16/05/2012 at 08:59
The big yellow ball is back in the sky this morning.

Can't wait for lunch run!
16/05/2012 at 09:13

4.35 miles this morning. i used mapometer.co.uk as garmin is still dead.  rubbish.  it appears to be a common problem.  technology eh?!!! pah!

Enjoy your runs guys
