Sounds like everyone is having a good Easter.  I endulged yesterday with choc cornflake cake, hot choc drink then chinese for dinner

Being better today, but cough/chest is getting so bad my partner is talking of taking me to the hospital! I don't want to go, but the coughing is so violent it hurts so bad!

Maam, best to be safe and cared for in hospital than struggling alone at home, I am sorry to hear you are hurting though. Sending "Get Well" vibes to you and hoping you are able to stay at home.

Hi all

Thank you for all the best wishes, I am at home, but no running - again   I have more antibiotics as have another chest infection.  Going to go tomorrow to see my normal GP and see what can be done about it, coz training like this just isn't working and gets me down that I can't run.  Even today and it's raining!

Hope everyone else is clockin up the miles and eating healthy I've been comfort eating, a bit too much

Hi Maam sorry you are unwell - all that coughing sounds horrible. Weather is pants outside so probably a good day to give the running a miss anyway.

I managed to avoid too much choc yesterday partly cos I went out with Mrs S to see Sarah Miliken last night (forgot we had tickets til I found them on Saturday - luckily) so I didn't sit watching the Masters eating the kids eggs.

However, I've made up for it today with more than my fair share of the brown stuff! Well if you can't indulge at Easter (and Christmas and birthdays and anniversaries and weekends etc. etc. ). when can you indulge?

Will start running again soon - the break has gone on far too long!

I'm running again tomorrow. I have gained 1lb in the last 3 moneths instead of losing any. I have 3 months until I have to wear a wedding dress and I've hurt my wrist so running is my new best friend!

Hi guys

Hope you all had a good one  it feels crap being back at work  boohoo

I only ran once over the break 3.43 miles my usual short route  on the plus side though I think my calf muscle niggle may have gone.  If thats the case then I don't mind that I have been slack the last couple of weeks as I needed to get it sorted  I feel proper tired today I didnt sleep at all well but I am going to club run later  I think  lol

Maam - sorry to hear your poorly  how you feeling now?

10/04/2012 at 14:27
Hi Boo. You deserve a rest so don't be too hard on yourself for a few days off. How was the wedding? Did you refrain from drinking or did you let your hair down?

I'm knackered today too. Busy weekend and not enough sleep last night so I can't get going today.

Making plans to resume running on Thurs as I'm out tomorrow. Can't wait actually as its been a long enough break now.

Mal What happened with the belly buster? Are you sure you didn't go to that caf with the all say breakfasts by mistake?? Hope your run goes well.

Wedding was great thanks  had a skin full of booze haha friends had a room there so we had a chill out there for an hour but when I got back up I felt rough for about an hour  then I was ok and started drinking again.  Note to ones self - stay on the drink all day don't have a rest haha

Defo up for running tonight even if its just to make sure I sleep tonight

Report back tomorrow, over and out

Hi all

Boo - enjoy the running and glad your calf is feeling better

Silver - bet you can't wait to get back to it, been far too long for you without reporting a run.

Mal - keep your chin up, 3 months can make such a difference

As for me, I'm still not running, Dr says he thinks I'm just run down and all the travelling isn't helping, but he thinks with the weather turning I should be on the mend, and when I feel up to it I can get back to my running so plan to hit the streets before the weekend is out

10/04/2012 at 19:05
Booey lol at note to yourself - I'll remember that one. Glad the wedding was good and you were able to relax!

Ma'am I'm sorry to hear you're unwell. The weather here is a lot brighter this pm do hopefully you'll be able to get out soon but don't go out too early or you'll just make yourself worse.

Ive had enough of chocolate now and want to run again. Have to wait til Thursday though. I'm going to go back to my 5k route for a few runs to see if I've got any faster. It's awhile since I did it as I've been training further distances but I reckon (hope!) it will feel like such a short run I'll be able to peg it the whole way round.

Looking back at my Runmeter I have to beat 27.19 for 5.3k lap. I can do it I know I can!

I'm running tomorrow, wish me luck, it's been a very long break.

Oh, and I haven't been belly busting or body busting yet, not sure which one I fancy most. I'm waiting to hear if I'm allowed to do the body busting programme whilst feeding Moo.
11/04/2012 at 07:44
Belly busting sounds much better then body busting Mal. Good luck with the run today. Remember the mantra - I will take it nice and slowly!

It's a lovely morning here but I'm tied up all day so no running I'm afraid. Tomorrow for sure!

I made it to run club and did a nice 5.5 miles, really enjoyed it

Hopefully make it to other club later and do abit with them

My foot aches today  the flat part after your toes  and aches when I wiggle my toes, I noticed it the other day aswell........but have just had a thought that I was wearing rather high shoes at the wedding so it could be from that  they both ache in same place.  If its not that then maybe I need new trainers  might where my trail ones later and see if that helps

Mal - good luck for your run today, let us know how you get on

I've been listening to my old queen albums while running (don't laugh) and I found that i've knocked half a minute off my mileage times - pretty much everytime I listen to Queen, I run half a minute faster.

 Thank you Freddie.

I've run 33 miles since the beginning of april - am going to try and do 65 miles this month as a minimum

11/04/2012 at 15:52

Emma - Wow, good target and good times.  Wish I was out there

Boo - Sure the foot will settle down, bet drink and dancing in heels haven't helped.

Mal - Hope the run goes well for you, like silver says, slow and steady

The Dr has said I can run when I feel up to it but have to listen to my body so going to try a little run or stepper tomorrow as long as work isn't a killer as I'll be doing 7am to 5pm Then plan to go out again at the weekend.  Still on Antibiotics so won't be going mad, well not too mad anyway   The not so great news is there isn't really a cure for my getting well as the meds I'm on for my Colitis surpress my immune system and with the travelling I do for work I'm prone to everything So not fair, but will keep plodding on, so looking forward to the GNR, but also wanting a good time too (well for me anyway )

11/04/2012 at 20:18
Ma'am you must get fed up with being so vulnerable to colds and infection. It's great you can stay so positive despite that. Hop you feel better soon. Ages til GNR so don't stress about that yet.

Boo why do ladies wear high heals? I saw Jessica Ennis modelling some high heal shoes in a mag at the weekend and all I could think was she better be careful or shell turn her ankle in those! (ok I also thought what a great body she has too!). Hope the achy foot goes anyway - I'm sure it's caused by the dancing and alcohol!

Em I also have some Queen on my IPod but I didn't want to admit it in here as it shows what an old foggy I am. Good news that Freddie makes you run faster but he doesn't have the same affect on me. Maybe I need to up my BPMs to increase the speed a bit. Note to self - stop listening to Rod Stewart while running!

lmao Silver listening to Rod Stewart  you saddo

Didn't club run last night, the heavens opened so I didnt go

I have this pm off work to MOT the car so I should hopefully get home early to go for a run

Maam - I feel for you with all your probs   I have now been to see a specalist about my swollen aching joints on my hands and its 99% certain I have rheumatoid arthritis  I am back to doctors/hospital on monday for more specialist blood tests and x-rays then after that hospital for hand scans.  The first step is to put me on a weekly tablet, I hate taking any form of tablet etc and really dont want to as I know it has certain side effects, one being more prone to colds etc  and I am someone who NEVER gets colds.  I know I don't have a choice as the specialist said, I am young to be getting this and if we start now it could save me major problems in the future  boohoo I am getting old

12/04/2012 at 10:09
Hi Saddo here!! I do have Rod Stewart on my IPod Boo but I only downloaded it for my Dad. Although I also have some Barbra Striesand and Bee Gees which are all mine!

Sorry to hear about the arthritis. I'm sure I read in a paper the other day that they almost have a cure for it or at least something that can stop it getting worse. I'll see if I can find it for you to see.
12/04/2012 at 10:18
Cool yeah if you can find it I would be interested to read thanks
