Pressure is on to enter a half marathon as part of my training for the London. I've heard this is "lumpy" and I think that probably means full of mountains! Would this be a good first or am I better waiting for a flatter run?

Haven't run it myself but intend to. DOn't think that Mountainous comes into it - a bit bumpy though. I ran Wilmslow and Leyland as my Pre FLM training - they are later than Helsby, and pretty much flat.
Wilmslow fills up quickly though.
