Hi Runners World people

Sorry to bother you but is anybody able to give a description of how to download routes from map my run to my garmin 305, so that my teenage daughter can show me how to do it.

Thanks in advance

How to import routes to 305

Alternatively

http://s3.runnersworld.co.uk/members/images/200439/gallery/export.jpg?width=350&height=197&mode=max

Click on 'export map data'

Save .gpx to somewhere on your hard drive where you know you will find it again.

Attach 305 to PC

Follow file path to either workouts or course (I can't reember which).  Copy .gpx into the folder and Bob should be your Uncle.

Also, refer to 305 Manual

Map my run is a bit long winded tbh.

Try www.bikehike.co.uk, it's easy to work out how to plot a route.

Plug in your garmin, and when you're happy with your route, click on "Download route"

a little box opens, check the gps unit box and click download route, it will then go straight to your garmin without having to save the file on your pc and import it from there.

Agree with Mr P. Bikehike is far easier to use.

I now use Anquet mapping as I much prefer OS maps but bikehike does have the advantage of both google and os maps so you really have no excuse if you get lost.  (I'm very good at that.)
