Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you have all had a lovely day. I went to the Christmas dinner for the needy at Church. Only a few people turned up which was a shame and there was so much food so we were invited to share the meal with the guests. I only ate a little so as not to upset the Priest. Me and another Volunteer had set up the tables the night before and dressed the Tree so it all looked lovely and one lady who was there said she had a lovely time as she has spent the last few years alone and wouldn't have even bothered to cook for herself . It made my own Christmas very special as I spent time with some lovely people and it made me realise just how lucky I am. I also managed a run in my Santa hat

MC - well done on your roast beef!

Just had my piano lesson with my Polish lady.  She misses Christmas too, in spite of being a Muslim convert. She is only 20 and says it is her first Christmas away from her parents. Her husband is very nice as well.  (He comes too and sits and chats with my hubby during the lesson.)

My Australian friend asked us to her house for a New Year's Eve dinner. I think it is the first time we are going out for New Year's Eve since the kids were born. (11 years).  I remember when I used to go to Trafalger Square with my sister and having to walk from Tottenham Hale station to Walthamstow when we missed the last tube home. (After way toooo much to drink.lol)

Well, we had three elderly ladies come home with us from church and I cooked pork, quail and pheasant (we never have turkey cos we get sick of it at Thanksgiving) plue everything and 3 puds. I was expecting they would head home about 5ish, but stayed until 10mins ago! I think they were enjoying their day. We sat and did a 1000 piece Disney jigsaw together.

Anyway, I had really wanted to go for a run and wasn't even going to be put off by the weather cos my hubby gave me a Ron Hill waterproof running jacket for my pressie . But it's a bit late to go out now

My girls are thoroughly spoilt and received far too many gifts. Has been a lovely day. Hope you all got the running pressies you wanted too.

I did pushups, pullups and HIIT today - might try and get out for a run tomorrow. 

Chilli,it sounds like you had a lovely day. I imagine the ladies had a great time too. I bet you cant wait to use your jacket either. Hubby got me a T Shirt that says "Running = More Cake".

Yep.  We have some relatives from Italy over, so it's much more hectic than usual here.  Two adults and two young kids.

hope you have all recovered from your hectic Christmas days! Ecky - yours sounds lovely and so nice that you could help people not feel lonely at Christmas. Chili - sounds like your ladies must have had a lovely time. 

I have decided to save my run for this afternoon instead of going this morning, I was enjoying a peaceful lie-in too much. By this afternoon the kids will be arguing and I will be needing a bit of space, so will be a good time for a run!

Sounds like a good plan, MC.  My mate's coming over soon to do presents and watch some football, so I'll probably go for a run later as well.

I really enjoyed my turbo session this morning. Now regretting leaving my run for this evening as it is chucking it down. Will wait till I have sorted out kids food then go for just a short run to get some fresh air

got out for mine, was raining and windy but it was so nice to be outside and have a bit of solitude a slow 4 miles, still having walk breaks, but then, I was in no rush to get home!

I meant to go out for a 5k today but one thing or another, it didn't happen which hasn't left me in the best of moods - I really needed to get out there today, and I can't do tomorrow because as I said before, HIIT and running don't work well for me.

RR - I know what it is like, I always find that if I don't go early morning then I don't go at all, I was very very disciplined to get out yesterday, but I really needed to!

off to the gym soon - little boy is doing a water holiday activity (snorkelling, canoeing and water polo) and I am having to bribe big one to go to the kids gym. He hasn't been wanting to go at all, but I am gettting worried that he isn't doing much exercise.
