Not sure what to do? Get a proper training programme.
Obvious to you maybe, but not at all to me.
Thanks for making a newbie feel most unwelcome and now wish I had never come on this site let alone dare ask a question.
As with any forum on the internet you'll find there is a bit of rough and tumble ....... for instance try and go on Mumsnet and see how 'nice and welcoming' they are. I went on there once to ask advice on how I could win custody of my child from the mother, you should have seen the torrent of abuse that came my way ...... but I digress ......
The point is, not to get upset at the first sign of a negative comment. Have a look around the runnersworld.co.uk site, there are plans around to help out beginners.
But in short ...... make sure especially when you start out to build in rest days ..... I would do one day on, one day off for the first month till you get a bit of basic fitness and stamina going, then you can probably increase it from there. And make sure you have at least one day per week when you go on a long slow run. That means the priority here is distance, not speed, take as long as you like, but make sure you get the mileage under your belt for that run, as its the long runs that will help build stamina and the speed will naturally come off that over time.
But most importantly, this is an internet forum, you need to develop a thicker skin ....
