Hi everyone-
Am I the ONLY person in the world who ISN'T doing the London Marathon, and DOESNT want to?!
Reading the threads on this site I'm beginning to think I'm crazy for being quite happy with my hour of trudging. Anyone else like me?!

you are not alone...

although I did want to a couple of years ago, I've gone off the idea now

don't worry, in a week it'll all be over, but in the meantime I still support the brave souls who ARE doing it

Absolutely, that takes more dedication that I can find! Good luck to all.

I lived in Edinburgh for a few years, what a great city! Maybe that's something to aim for, then I would have an excuse to revisit the hostelries!!!

Sorry Yeo, in a couple of weeks it won't be over. The threads and articles in RW will start for 2007.

But rest assured, according to RW, the FLM will be 2006's top race.

Sometimes I wonder if there are any other races run in the UK.

How many runners is it ? 30,000 - obviously its gonna get a lot of coverage - same as the GNR really.

snot fair though cougie
there were at LEAST 200 runners at Anglesey mara!

RaH

I'm not doing FLM, I have done 3 marathons, (including FLM) but find running off road much more fun.

As everyone says if you believed the constant media hype there are only two races in GB. I think there is a movement away from the mass races which seem to be mainly supported now by first timers and charity fund raisers. Also GNR has been boycotted by local club runners for the rip off entry system.

FLM and GNR are not the best races, but let's let them think so and keep the really good races quiet.A favourite race last year was a 10k in Keilder Forest among thousands of trees, not people with only 79 finishers. If I tell you the others, I'll have to kill you :>}
