What I want to get to is a comparison of times for those people over the age of 40 - why because I am over 40 and no other reason.
I guess I will start then........
Does it mean anything without their training background? The first one is a mate of mine. Can you guess who it is?

Love the idea that someone on here can be called Also Ran and have a 2:47 marathon pb - cool!!
BUT doesn't mean much as both were more than 15 years ago.
Height 5ft 5in

was 15st 8lbs in march 2012. First run may 2012. Running my first and, probably last ultra in September
so have the race times got to be this years so taht it ties in with weight and age.........as PB's could have been years ago,,,,,,
Well I gave Gabrselassie's over 40 time - I took it as age category pb.
Maybe we also need your running age. Mine is 1.5 years. I'm on the up, Haile is on the way down - hope he is looking over his shoulder
Being serious though, I would have a look on the rankings on Power of 10 / Runbritain to see what the old fogeys are doing John. I don't think weight helps without knowing the fitness / run conditioning of the old geezer in question.
I'm currently the no.1 MV40 on the block (well postcode district, but block sounds more hip) according to Runbritain, and number 2 overall. That means there is a young whippersnapper out there who needs taking down. Sitting here typing on a forum isn't helping matters; I'm off
Height 5ft 3
Weight 7 st
10k 44m something
Its a talent thing. Being scrawny helps, training helps, but if you haven't got talent, as every person on this forum proves, you'll never be really good at running...
Or you wouldn't be on here asking and answering...
