After 3 weeks of training from scratch for the flm i ran 5 miles today for the first time. In the pouring rain i didnt stop once and did it in 45 mins. I can't believe ive come this far already.

Good luck tommorrow you can do it, focus on how you will feel when you cross that finishing line.

Hi all
Am too waiting to see if flm app successful. Have learnt a major lesson already in taking it gradually, as silly me couldn't do the GNR due to a calf tear caused by doing too much too soon. But things are getting better as today is going to be the first training run for about 2 months..
Should be fun.....

i am a beginner too, started running about 3 months ago but am finding it hard to get out in the dark and cold and rain!
I have applied for the FLM and like everyone am waiting to hear the result of the ballot
Reading the posts on the forums really help keep me motivated though, it is inspiring to read about others in the same boat

Hey guys,

I have been running regularly for a month now. Up to 3 miles 3 times a week.

I was thinking about the FLM, but thought that I wouldn't have enough time. Also I thought that I would not get a starting place this late on.

Could anyone advise me on this?

You are too late to get a place via the ballot. However, it is not too late to get into FLM if you want to run for a charity.

Most training schedules start in December and build from a base mileage of 15-20 miles, which you should have been doing for at least a month by then.
