Feel free to join me!
Brilliant day today - 20 times a minute haven't looked at the average yet but fastest bit according to Mr Garmin - 5:07!!!! That'll do nicely thank you.
Nice one Grendel! Thats some good kicking!
Was trying to concentrate on not falling off the unicycle!!! and to be fair that was the fastest - the average will be a good minute and a half slower!!!
ha ha ha good fun eh?! even still thats a good pace!
A chilly morning, the wind seemed to be coming from all directions at once and is now still quite murky when I leave home in the morning - still 5 miles run, 2 miles off road averaged 8:38 the unicyle keeps rolling (it does seem to make a difference btw)
Happy Days (where is everyone and are you back to running B2B?
Yep did my report on monday!
Looking forward to a little trot tonight, not sure how far just yet.
Really glad you are finding it works for you as well, the only small problem im having at the moment is it makes my ankles ache a little but I think I just need to tweak it a little, also im still getting used to how tight/loose to wear the sandals so maybe that's not helping...think I maybe stomping a little at the moment.
All that aside I feel like im starting to run better and easier than ever!
Mmmmmm......Turkish Delight....may have to purchase a bar myself at the weekend Grendel.
B2B, glad you're enjoying your relaxed running style! I love those runs when you just leave the watch at home and 'Just Run', which makes me wonder why its been so long since I did it myself?
Welcome back 3:30 or bust, is it me or do most of us on here run along side the water most days? I know its a little different for me running by the canal but its still water.
Did another interval session tonight, half mile warm up followed by 10 x 1 minute with 1 minute recovery and a half mile warm down. Had no idea what the pace was until now and i had to walk after the first two but probably went off a little too quick after my tea! Here are the splits...
I'm pretty sure the 8:25 was through the darkest section of the run which would explain the difference but i simply ran 'fast but comfortable' if that makes sense. I have to say i'm quite surprised by the pace and consistency. I expected a couple of wuick ones to appear but i do seem to have managed to keep the pace pretty even throughout.
Easy 3 miles planned for Friday and no football this weekend so 4 on Sunday for certain!
PS Page 100 of the thread and almost 2000 posts up!!!
You all seem to be going great guns, well done all
Back out tonight, so far twice this week, still on three only but getting back into this slowly. Feel better in myself starting to run again. Have put my mail add into Great Glasgow run site for info on when the race will be next year and when applications open !! Trying to shift weight as well and get BMI down into "normal" Level, according to calculator I am overweight although I already new this !!
Move over Mo Farrah !!
Will look forward to seeing Mo Farrah chase you down the home straight at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014!!! 3:30
Good session there Just Run, I think 10 times a minute is my favourite session - (although I have now doubled it) I understand what you mean by fast and comfortable, although I would probably say relaxed more than comfortable - whic probably amouts to the same thing.
I did 4 times half mile this morning. They were all in the 6:30 - 6:40 region off a two minute recovery - again running on a unicycle - felt quite tired to be honest (and an old lady I see everyday walkiong her dogs stopped me in the middle of the first one to complain about some work being carried out on the beach - so my actual session went quarter mile stop for a chat, another quarter mile, two mintes recovery and then 3 times half mile!!! mile warm down!!!!
Rest day today - 3 miles run, average 8:38 concentrating on not falling off the unicycle.
Have a great weekend all.
Well done on getting back out there 3:30, i am also trying to get my weight and bmi down to a better level.
Thanks Grendel, think i'll gradually add a rep or two and build up to the 20 x 1 minute myself.
Nice easy 3 after work today, very hot!!!
Bit of a boo boo there - went out for 3 and felt really heavy legged.
Then I realised that I hadnt eaten a single morsel all day !! Not a good idea, but still under 30 mins !!
All things considered that's a decent run 3:30, but i'm not sure i'd want to be going without fuel like that too often. No wonder your legs were heavy.
A very hot and sweaty 4.58 hilly miles this morning. Had a lie in so didn't get out till 10:30. Took it very slow, had to move over for a couple of tractors, and passed one dog walker. A lovely peaceful run.
Tis certainly very warm out there today Just Run - well done on your hilly 4.58 miles -
Was out slightly later tha normal - didn't feel that great to be honest - so fooled my brain and my body into thinking I was only going to do 4 - so kept adding bits until everything was resigned to the fact that I was going to do 8!!!! avereaged 9.06 which surprised me to be honest - must have picked it up a bit - still enjoying the sun and the windless conditions!!!! (all fueled by a quarter pounder with cheese meal and large fries yesterday!!) Happy days!!!
3.11 miles run, still warm but a very strong wind coming across from the sea. Felt quite tired this morning after yesterdays run - but quite enjoyed it. strangely averaged 9:06 which was exactly the same as yesterdays 8!!!!! A lot slower out into the wind though so that probably accounts for a lot of it.
8 miles Grendel!!!, and a very impressive pace over that kind of distance too. Glad you enjoyed your run.
I had a nice easy 3 miles, average 10:43m/m. Concentrated on keeping my footfall light and trying not to land too heavy on my feet. Its made a big difference with my knee, resulting in little or no niggles at all. It's certainly a change to how i run and i seem to be landing mid to forefoot rather than heel striking.
Good running Just Run - am trying this on the mid foot thing too.
Have ordered the Chi Book you recommended B2B from the library - so am waiting for that -
another 20 times a minute session this morning (actually did 21 due to a cock up and the darkness which meant I couldn't see the Garmin (I pressed the wrong button for the light!!!!) SLower this week, but because of the wind this morning 15 o them were into a head wind - (not quite the crashing waves I put on Facebook this morning) but windy none the less.
Getting close to the 2,000 post mark now!!
Oh look done it!!
