we go swiming every tuesday - i find the coolish) water great for easing the aches and pains and tonight to aid re-hydration given the amount of water I swallowed racing my wife I won (just)!!!

ha ha ha Grendel yeah I cant seem to not swallow water! Also im one of those that doesn't put there face in the water!  Hopefully I will get better but im under no illusions about ever being a great swimmer!

Yeah Panda I just watched everyone else gentle glide up and down the pool thinking "how the..." well I guess its the same as watching a great runner really! 

I went for a little walk tonight just 0.95 of a mile to my parents to stretch my legs and try out the new Garmin. Gotta say, pretty impressed at how quick it picks up on a change of pace even at walking speed! 17 m/m average but if I sped up or down to try and catch it out it was all over it! Looking forward to trying it out on a proper run. Will have to wait till saturday or sunday now as im busy for the next couple of evenings so I shall get a couple of 5k`s in on my lunch break, no need for Mr Garmin

i got a heated pool here b2b: amount of times i used it including the winter =2 

I hate swimming!!! hope you guys are running well 6.3 round the rock planned for tmora!!

Very stiff 5k for me today with my shine twinging away the whole time, still knocked out a 12m/m so thats good.

May take a couple or 3 rest days just to make sure my shin is ok

Well ive got a plan from http://halhigdon.com/ and had to jump to the last 8 weeks!

Going to try and just speed up a smidge and try maybe bandaging my feet for the Luna`s to give me a little more time before blisters.

Im going to keep a close eye on my bodies reaction to the schedule and take rest days if I need them rather than sticking to it like a bible!

Its better to be under trained than over worked!

Yeah one more run should break my 500! Never run that many in a year before, im quite happy with that so far!

3.65 yesterday 30:30 and 6.3 today in 59:27, i even saw 7 monkeys out today always weird to see but nice!!!

pleased with yesterday i was in casino everyone was drinking i said no and went home for my run! willpower!!!!! i did have 11 pints after but no one is perfect lol

shoes feel amazing, really happy with them,

grendel and b2b both amazing totals on the year both sound like your going well,

Hard luck 3:30 - have given up trying -

3 miles run this morning started easy and sped up towards the last 1.5 miles - bit stupid really as it was a rest day.

I tried for 4 years...gave up on running the big ones! You could sign up for Luton! 18th November, 5 hour cut off..£25 ish? Still about 400 places left

B2B  - Have done the relays marathon a couple of times

I cant complain got in a lot back in the day before it became inundated with people wanting to walk round. Done 11 so cant complain - only other one I have done is Dublin. Want to run one in Scotland though Loch Ness looks good

Hi all, no running for me this week. I am currently studying for my level one coaching badge for the youth football i'm involved with. That took up Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Football training Thursday for two hours, new tattoo and more studying today, football matches tomorrow morning till around lunch time. I may try to squeeze in an easy 3 miles tomorrow afternoon before making sure i have a reasonably early night Saturday before 8 1/2 hours of practical (outside) assessments for the football coarse. Then another 3 1/2 hours in the classroon Monday evening. Tuesday WILL be a run day, Wednesday and Thursday more coarsework (home and classroom), Friday RUN and swimming, Saturday football with youngest son and another 8 1/2 hours outside assessments Subday to complete coarse.

Had some sad news this week when my grandad passed away Thursday morning. He had alzheimer's and suffered an illness recently from which he never recovered. He was a proper character and will be sorely missed by all. May he rest in peace.

Hey all, used my Garmin tonight, turns out my phone was being silly on monday...the official distance...ish is 13.19 miles for that route, but the Garmin site calls that 13.2 (must have lost a satellite for a mo?) and records it as a half marathon......which is nice!

Had abit of a painful run today and had to walk then run then walk again, still kept to around 14m/m even with the walking so not too bad I guess.

Was going for time on my feet tonight rather than speed as its the first time ive done the half marathon twice in one week.

Im not going to bother taking off any millage as i have underestimated loads of runs before, now I have the Garmin ill just call it all even and go by what this fella says!

Just a quick one for now - sad news Just Run - condolences to you and yours always a difficult time - same as B2B if you need to vent you know where we are!!!!

You are certainly very busy at the momen though have you discounted going out in the mroning now?

Well done on the long run B2B all systems go for the marathon then.

Have had a cold over the past couple of days which seems to be on the way now - kept to 2 miles yesterday and 2 miles today as part of my taper for the 10K this weekend - should really have rested but have got myself involved n a 98 day running challenge with some facebook 'friends' and have committed to running everyday until the end of the year.

Well done on 500 miles btw.

Nice one Grendel! Though I have to put in a small "tut tut" at the not resting bit, you know better than that by now ha ha ha!

Are you going for a 10k PB this weekend? Munch as much vitamin C as you can!

Thats quite some challenge Grendel, is this a minimum millage a day or is it just what you can handle?

Thanks Mark if that was aimed at me, Grendel has done double my millage already this year!! He deserves at least a badge or something!

Right, there was no running for me at the weekend but that was a good thing as I spent all weekend helping to lay some decking for my father in law...knackered!!

Going to rest again today then the aim this week is something like this....(though the days may shuffle)......

Tuesday - lunchtime - swim, evening 5/6 mile

Wednesday - lunchtime - 5k, evening Rest

Thursday -  lunchtime - weights/stretching, evening 5/6 mile

Friday - Rest

Saturday or sunday - 10-13 mile

No minimum mileage B2B - just running everyday - a small group of us who agreed to join in -

Sounds a good plan for the week though did have to go to a dictionary as wasn't sure what one of the words meant - now know though rest doesn't mean go out and run as hard as possible!!!
