Bananas - ah I see, so just trying to keep moving for abit longer before a walk....I try and remember to do that on my runs I try and stick to 20 min run, 1 to 2 minute walk but I dont always remember to stop and walk!
Thats kind of a bad habit I need to break as I have my first Ultra next year and I think its the only way im going to get through it!!
Just keep at it, its gets easier I promise! A sub 3 is on the cards if you just take your time to build up to it, dont always follow a plan 100%, if you feel like your body isnt ready take a little step back or you will end up reading from the sidelines!
We have all done it!
Right onto tonight`s adventure!
Went out with the earphones in and concentrated on keeping my cadence up with Black Sun Empire!
Tried to stay relaxed and stop myself from getting carried away with the music!
Mr Garmin on my wrist, and off we go...started off too fast so tried to claw it back a little...around 4 miles in it rained for about 20 minutes or so which at the time was ok and quite refreshing...6.5 I had a Trek bar, finished my first bottle then started on my Elete water....got stung on the foot by some little beastie and before I knew it was nearly home!!!
Mr Garmin clocking me in at 13.21 miles this time so with friday telling me it was 13.19 from now on ill just call it 13.2!
Looked at my watch, looked again, wiped the rain covered screen and looked again......ran softer than last time, more relaxed and only missed my new PB by just over a minute!?!?!!!! Final time.....2.20.37!
Now is confession time...ive been playing around with my diet a little while reading Eat and Run by Scott Jurek.
I have almost cut out white bread, white pasta and cut down alot on fizzy drinks.
I also for the last week or so have been running on veggies and a little bit of fish.
Tonight I had sesame seed cereal with some chia mixed in before I left for my run and I still wasnt hungry when I got back!!
Just made Thai tofu with rice noodles...need to get used to the tofu ha ha ha weird stuff!!
I have no real intentions of becoming a veggie or vegan but I have to say the results are very interesting! Im not sure if its just in my head but I feel lighter and im running faster with less time needed for resting.
Its a really strange thing but I just feel like everything is just a little bit easier, ok so my feet were still tired but thats just a matter of time and miles but apart from that I guess the only way to really describe it is I feel cleaner, like im running on unleaded! lol! This is something im going to investigate more!
Happy feets!
