Booktrunk - you're right about the running conditions/road - it'll make a real difference and I'm sure you'll have no problem getting round in under 6 hours.
Dave - the Strongman Run sounds good fun. Hope the groin strain eases soon.

Just a quick (OK, average paced) 8k up the beautiful Clyne Valley in Swansea. I really wasn't sure how today would go, given the aches and pains I had after my long run on Sunday, but I was genuinely surprised to find that I enjoyed the run, and that it was pain free.
There must be something in these marathon training programmes after all...and it's taken my total for the year to over 1,500km. Now that's put a smile on my face!
Later on, a colleague told me he'd been inspired to run 5k on the treadmill at lunchtime because I'm "always banging on about running", or words to that effect. Still, it's nice to have been of use.
